Revelation Of The Book Of Psalms

Revelation

of the

Book of Psalms

(Commentaries are in parenthesis and are mine only, interpreted in the language of the Holy Spirit as understanding is given.)

Note: The purpose of this commentary is not to teach you what to believe. It is to teach you how to read the Word of God, in His heavenly language, in His Spirit. If you have eyes to see, and ears to hear, it’s the “heavenly manna”.

Remember, we are only learning, so these things can become clearer with more revelation. They are changing every day, revelation falling from heaven like manna. Be patient as we all get understanding in these last days.

 Chapter 1

How blessed (on the narrow way) is the man who does not walk (practice unrighteousness) in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path (the broad way) of sinners (those that reject God’s true law), Nor sit in the seat of scoffers (see the gospel as foolishness)! 2But his delight is in the law (the Word of God) of the LORD, And in His law (the Word of God) he meditates day (in the light) and night (in times of darkness). 3He will be like a tree (the trees of the field) firmly planted (having a firm root) by streams of water (the water of life), Which yields its fruit (fruit of the Spirit) in its season (in season and out of season) And its leaf does not wither (fall away or shrink back); And in whatever he does (by the Spirit), he prospers (becomes more like Christ).

4The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff (wasted part and not fruit) which the wind (the testing and trials) drives away. 5Therefore the wicked will not stand (not stand firm) in the judgment (their trials of faith), Nor sinners in the assembly (the church) of the righteous (performing righteous acts). 6For the LORD knows the way (the narrow way) of the righteous, But the way (the broad way) of the wicked will perish (dwell in darkness).

Chapter 2

1Why are the nations (the gatherings of peoples) in an uproar And the peoples devising a vain thing (to attack the people of God)? 2The kings (rule in the flesh) of the earth (the old nature, the flesh) take their stand And the rulers (fleshly rule) take counsel together (bear false witness) Against the LORD and against His Anointed (His body, Christ the head), saying,

3“Let us tear their fetters (bonds of Christ) apart And cast away their cords (the walk of Christ) from us!” 4He who sits in the heavens (the heavenly realm) laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. 5Then He will speak (respond) to them in His anger (through the powers of darkness) And terrify them in His fury (loose the demons on them through the walk of Christ), saying,

6“But as for Me, I have installed My King (Kings of kings and Christ in us) Upon Zion (where God dwells), My holy mountain (the hill of the Lord).” 7“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son (Jesus and His body), Today I have begotten You (perfected Christ into the image of God). 8‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession (put in subjection under your feet, the body).

9‘You shall break them (through the gospel) with a rod of iron (the power and authority of Christ’s life), You shall shatter them like earthenware (clay vessels).’” 10Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth. 11Worship the LORD with reverence And rejoice with trembling (meek, lowly and contrite). 12Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way (fall away from the faith), For His wrath (the discipline of the Lord) may soon be kindled. How blessed (on the narrow way) are all who take refuge (abide in Him through obedience) in Him!

Chapter 3

O LORD, how my adversaries (birds of the air and the beasts of the field) have increased! Many are rising up against me (through offenses). 2Many are saying of my soul, “There is no deliverance for him in God. (in the valley of the shadow of death)” Selah. 3But You, O LORD, are a shield (through your righteous acts in me) about me, My glory (crown of righteous acts), and the One who lifts my head (strengthens me in my trials). 4I was crying to the LORD with my voice (to save me from death), And He answered me from His holy mountain (where God dwells). Selah.

5I lay down and slept (at peace in the midst of mine enemies); I awoke (with more of His life), for the LORD sustains me (when I’m in Him). 6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people (powers of darkness surrounding me, the demons) Who have set themselves against me round about (like bees swirling about me). 7Arise, O LORD; save me (bring me into your image and likeness), O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek (through me laying my life down); You have shattered the teeth (the power) of the wicked (pretenders to know God). 8Salvation (the new creation in me) belongs to the LORD; Your blessing (your promise of eternal life in us) be upon Your people (the true bride of Christ)

Chapter 4

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness (righteous acts in me)! You have relieved me in my distress (trials of the faith); Be gracious to me and hear my prayer. 2O sons of men, how long will my honor (ways of righteousness) become a reproach?  How long will you love what is worthless (the world, the flesh, and the devil) and aim at deception (pretend to be righteous)? Selah.

3But know that the LORD has set apart (in His Spirit) the godly man (living by faith) for Himself (abiding in Him); The LORD hears when I call to Him. 4Tremble (walk in the fear of God), and do not sin; Meditate (on His voice, his word, Jesus Christ) in your heart upon your bed, and be still (waiting patiently). Selah.

5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness (obedience to the gospel, walking in love), And trust in the LORD (stand firm in faith). 6Many are saying, “Who will show us any good (according to the promise)?” Lift up (ascending in Him) the light (the gospel of Christ) of Your countenance (His image and likeness) upon us, O LORD!  7You have put gladness (refreshing my spirit) in my heart (the house of God), More than when their grain (fruit of my field) and new wine (fullness of the Spirit) abound (ever increasing). 8In peace (His rest) I will both lie down and sleep (be at peace and not be troubled), For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety (at rest in Him).

Chapter 5

Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning (yearning to be changed into His image). 2Heed the sound of my cry for help (all must cry out to be saved from death, like Christ was), my King and my God, For to You I pray. 3In the morning (the start of the new day), O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch (to keep my feet from evil). 4For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness (walking according to the flesh); No evil dwells with You (without spot or blemish).

5The boastful (pride comes before the fall) shall not stand (they fall away) before Your eyes (His Spirit); You hate all who do iniquity (practice sin). 6You destroy those who speak falsehood (speak one way, but walk another); The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed (shedding innocent blood by responding in the flesh) and deceit (flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage)

7But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness (the fruit of the Spirit) I will enter Your house (the highest heavens), At Your holy temple (God’s dwelling in me) I will bow (humble myself) in reverence for You. 8O LORD, lead me in Your righteousness (righteous acts of faith) because of my foes (those who come against me); Make Your way (the path into God) straight (in the blessing) before me. 9There is nothing reliable (nothing spiritual) in what they say; Their inward part (what’s coming from their heart) is destruction (attempting to side track me) itself. Their throat is an open grave (death and destruction); They flatter with their tongue (deceitful words to lure).

10Hold them guilty (call them to account), O God; By their own devices (sins from the heart) let them fall (fall away to destruction)! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out (out of the way of life), For they are rebellious against You (by not manifesting the gospel). 11But let all who take refuge in You (in Your image) be glad, Let them ever sing (offer sacrifices of praise, according to the Spirit) for joy; And may You shelter them (in the cleft of the Rock), That those who love Your name (His nature within us) may exult in You (in His likeness). 12For it is You who blesses (rains life upon them) the righteous man (walks in the true gospel), O LORD, You surround him with favor (blessed in God) as with a shield (weapon of righteousness).

Chapter 6

O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger (discipline of the Lord), Nor chasten me in Your wrath (judgment and discipline of the Lord). 2Be gracious (bring me through the trial) to me, O LORD, for I am pining away (under the curse); Heal me, O LORD, for my bones are dismayed (desiring the new body). 3And my soul is greatly dismayed (groanings by the Spirit, yearning to be transformed); But You, O LORD—how long (God always delays the promise)? 4Return, O LORD, rescue my soul (from death); Save me (transform me) because of Your lovingkindness. 5For there is no mention of You in death (dead in spirit, after falling away); In Sheol (separated from the presence of God) who will give You thanks (by walking in your life)?

6I am weary with my sighing (groaning to be changed into His image); Every night I make my bed swim (with loud crying and tears, like Jesus did), I dissolve my couch with my tears (crying out to God to possess the land promised). 7My eye (spirit) has wasted away with grief (over the sin revealed in me); It has become old (wilting away) because of all my adversaries (reapers coming to expose my sin). Now God answered David’s prayer for help…. 8Depart from me, all you who do iniquity (those bringing trials upon me), For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping (cleansing me from sin and now there’s no place). 9The LORD has heard my supplication (request to be delivered from sin), The LORD receives my prayer. 10All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed (overcome by my walk of love); They shall turn back (because now I have dominion over them through love), they will suddenly be ashamed (made a public display of them with the cross).

Chapter 7

O LORD my God, in You I have taken refuge (under the shelter of the Most High); Save me from all those who pursue me (bring the trials of the faith), and deliver me (pass the test of faith), 2Or he will tear my soul like a lion (do damage to my soul, by stumbling in my walk), Dragging me away (back to my old nature), while there is none to deliver (the hedge is down). 3O LORD my God, if I have done this (sinned against you), If there is injustice (broken the royal law of love) in my hands (in what I do), 4If I have rewarded evil (responded according to the flesh) to my friend, Or have plundered him (taken vengeance, returned evil for evil) who without cause (for no reason) was my adversary (came to test me with fire), 5Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it (because I broke the royal law, bringing judgment); And let him trample my life down to the ground (back to the earth, the flesh nature) And lay my glory in the dust (the flesh, serpents food). Selah.

6Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries (those bringing offenses to test me), And arouse Yourself for me (and in me); You have appointed judgment (it begins with the household of God). 7Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You (reapers coming to reap your fields), And over them return on high (over come the world, the flesh, and the devil). 8The LORD judges the peoples (both the living and the dead in this world); Vindicate me (through the trials), O LORD, according to my righteousness (righteous acts of the Spirit) and my integrity that is in me (Christ being formed in me). 9O let the evil of the wicked come to an end (once I have endured to the end), but establish the righteous (made them perfect); For the righteous God (a God of righteous acts) tries the hearts and minds (to refine into His image and likeness).

10My shield is with God (by my faith in the promise), Who saves the upright in heart (those being perfected). 11God is a righteous judge (will judge us according to our deeds of righteousness), And a God who has indignation every day (today is the day of salvation, Christ being formed in us through trials). 12If a man does not repent (in the trials), He will sharpen His sword (and be destroyed); He has bent His bow and made it ready (if we do not turn from our old ways). 13He has also prepared for Himself deadly weapons (sickness, diseases and calamity); He makes His arrows fiery shafts (consuming fire). 14Behold, he travails (works at being evil) with wickedness (whole pretending to love Him), And he conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood (led by his wicked thoughts). 15He has dug a pit (for himself) and hollowed it out (enlarged it), And has fallen (fallen away) into the hole (the pit of destruction) which he made (dug for himself).

16His mischief (offenses against others) will return upon his own head (judge and you’ll be judged), And his violence will descend upon his own pate (give and it will be given to you). 17I will give thanks (by walking in His ways) to the LORD according to His righteousness (righteous acts of love) And will sing praise (sacrifices of righteousness) to the name (Christ’s nature) of the LORD Most High.

Chapter 8

            1O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name (Your nature shown in Your image and likeness) in all the earth (the earthly realm), Who have displayed Your splendor (the glory of God, Christ) above the heavens (the new heavens)! 2From the mouth of infants and nursing babes (those new in the faith) You have established strength (the power of God, the life in you) Because of Your adversaries (the powers of darkness, coming against you), To make the enemy and the revengeful cease (overcome them by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony). 3When I consider Your heavens (the heavenly realms, above the earthly realm), the work of Your fingers (the body of Christ, walking in the gospel), The moon (the lesser light) and the stars (the descendants of Abraham, by faith), which You have ordained (before the foundation of the world);

4What is man (mankind) that You take thought of him (call us into fellowship with Yourself), And the son of man (Christ and the body of Christ) that You care for him? 5Yet You have made him a little lower than God (God’s likeness and His image), And You crown him with glory and majesty (a crown of acts of righteousness)! 6You make him to rule over the works of Your hands (have dominion over the powers and authorities in heavenly places); You have put all things under his feet (the body of Christ, Him being the head),

7All sheep (the people of God) and oxen (the workers of God’s fields), And also the beasts of the field (our adversaries in the flesh), 8The birds of the heavens (the demons) and the fish of the sea (those in the sea of humanity), Whatever passes through the paths of the seas (pathways of humanity). 9O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name (Your nature shown in Your image and likeness) in all the earth (the earthly realm where we start our journey, to become the sons of God, obeying by faith)!

Chapter 9

I will give thanks (the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name) to the LORD with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders (His life in me). 2I will be glad and exult in You (sound forth Your gospel); I will sing praise (sacrifices of praise according to the gospel) to Your name (Your image and likeness), O Most High. 3When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish (fall away from the faith) before You. 4For You have maintained my just cause (responded to my walk of faith); You have sat on the throne (the throne of righteousness) judging righteously (through righteous acts in us).

5You have rebuked the nations (with Your gospel), You have destroyed the wicked (judged by their own deeds); You have blotted out their name forever and ever (because they fell away from the faith). 6The enemy (enemies of the cross of Christ) has come to an end (did not endure to the end) in perpetual ruins (never to rise again), And You have uprooted the cities (where they congregate in safety); The very memory of them has perished (God no longer regards them as the living). 7But the LORD (His image and likeness) abides forever; He has established His throne (the throne of righteousness) for judgment (we judge the peoples through our walk of righteousness), 8And He will judge the world in righteousness (His righteous acts in us); He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity (judged by their own deeds, both good and bad).

9The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed (those that hide in his image and likeness), A stronghold in times of trouble (the many trials of the righteous); 10And those who know Your name (the nature of Your image and likeness) will put their trust in You (stand firm in faith), For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You (to abide in You). 11Sing praises to the LORD (offer sacrifices of praise, lips giving thanks to His name), who dwells in Zion (the presence of God, where God dwells); Declare among the peoples His deeds (by walking in His gospel). 12For He who requires blood (sprinkle His blood through suffering) remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (suffering for doing what is right).

13Be gracious (heap grace upon me) to me, O LORD; See my affliction from those who hate me (exalt themselves over me), You who lift me up from the gates of death (the old fleshly nature), 14That I may tell of all Your praises (manifest Your life in me), That in the gates (entrance into the kingdom) of the daughter of Zion (those that dwell in the presence of God) I may rejoice in Your salvation (manifesting Your image and likeness). 15The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made (by their own unrighteous deeds); In the net which they hid (a trap for me), their own foot has been caught (by the Spirit of God). 16The LORD has made Himself known (His image and likeness in us, but hidden from them); He has executed judgment (according to their deeds). In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared (by his own deeds). Selah.

17The wicked (those that practice unrighteousness) will return to Sheol (they fell away from the faith), Even all the nations (groups of peoples) who forget God (that fall away). 18For the needy (those that cry out to the Lord) will not always be forgotten (God will remember them), Nor the hope (of being brought into His image and likeness) of the afflicted perish forever. 19Arise, O LORD, do not let man (those still in the flesh) prevail; Let the nations (groups of people, of one heart and one mind) be judged before You (by their deeds). 20Put them in fear, O LORD; Let the nations know that they are but men (mere men, still in the flesh and have no power to overcome). Selah.

Chapter 10

Why do You stand afar off (seem to forsake us), O LORD? Why do You hide Yourself (not answer our cries) in times of trouble (when the enemy is attacking)? 2In pride the wicked (those that practice unrighteousness) hotly pursue the afflicted (God’s children going through trials); Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. 3For the wicked (those that practice unrighteousness) boasts of his heart’s desire (fleshly desires), And the greedy (everything is about him) man curses and spurns the LORD (by not obeying). 4The wicked (body of pretenders that practice unrighteousness), in the haughtiness of his countenance (the beast, the image of the antichrist), does not seek Him (pursue His righteousness). All his thoughts are, “There is no God (that cares what I do).”

5His ways (his own way) prosper at all times (it appears in the natural realm); Your judgments are on high (in the heavenly realm), out of his sight (without spiritual eyes); As for all his adversaries (enemies that come to turn him back into the way), he snorts at them (he thinks he is getting away with it). 6He says to himself, “I will not be moved (to turn back from his sins); Throughout all generations (phases of the false way) I will not be in adversity (the trials of believers).” 7His mouth is full of curses and deceit and oppression (his tongue runs to do evil against God’s people); Under his tongue is mischief and wickedness (the fruit of evil lips). 8He sits in the lurking places (places of darkness) of the villages (scheming against God’s people to look wise). In the hiding places he kills the innocent (gossip, criticism, and slander); His eyes stealthily watch for the unfortunate (those caught in his web of deceit).

9He lurks in a hiding place (place of pretending to be righteous) as a lion (a beast of the field, controlled by demons) in his lair; He lurks to catch the afflicted (those going through trials); He catches the afflicted (those pursuing the Lord in the way) when he draws him into his net (his trap of unrighteousness to cause them to fall away). 10He crouches, he bows down (pretending to be righteous, an angel of light), And the unfortunate fall by his mighty ones (the powers of darkness working with him). 11He says to himself, “God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it (God no longer cares and guards His little ones).” 12Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up Your hand (Your power, to stop the wicked). Do not forget the afflicted (those struggling in the way). 13Why has the wicked spurned God? He has said to himself, “You will not require it.”(will not be called into account for his ways)

14You have seen it, for You have beheld mischief and vexation to take it into Your hand (Your power). The unfortunate commits himself to You (choses the way of life, in faith); You have been the helper of the orphan (those without the old father). 15Break the arm (the strength) of the wicked and the evildoer, Seek out his wickedness (to bring repentance) until You find none (humbles himself). 16The LORD is King forever and ever; Nations have perished from His land (promised land in the believer). 17O LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble (delighting to do Your will); You will strengthen their heart (increase their hunger to know You), You will incline Your ear (listen to their hearts desire to do Your will) 18To vindicate the orphan (those without the old father) and the oppressed (those caught in trials), So that man who is of the earth (the beast, the old flesh nature) will no longer cause terror (bring trials to God’s people).

Chapter 11

In the LORD I take refuge (abiding in Him); How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain (away from suffering and trials); 2For, behold, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string (you can’t hide from the trials) To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart (dark times of ones waking in the way of life). 3If the foundations (of righteousness and justice in us) are destroyed (and they fall away), What can the righteous do?”

4The LORD is in His holy temple (in us); the LORD’S throne is in heaven (the heavenly realm in us); His eyes (His Spirit) behold, His eyelids test (with fiery trials) the sons of men (those on the path to eternal life). 5The LORD tests the righteous (those with righteous acts or deeds) and the wicked (pretenders), And the one who loves violence (chose to not walk in love) His soul hates. 6Upon the wicked He will rain snares (trapped in their own nets set for others); Fire and brimstone and burning wind (fiery trials which bring judgment) will be the portion of their cup (the cup of the Lord). 7For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness (acts or deeds of righteousness, love); The upright will behold His face (as in a mirror, His glory).

Chapter 12

            Help, LORD, for the godly man ceases to be (is being taken down by pretenders and falls away), For the faithful disappear (fall away) from among the sons of men. 2They speak falsehood (words according to the flesh) to one another; With flattering lips (smooth words to deceive) and with a double heart (double minded) they speak. 3May the LORD cut off (cut down all trees with bad fruit) all flattering lips, The tongue that speaks great things (boasts in self);

4Who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail (control others rather than be subjected by love); Our lips are our own (not controlled by the devil); who is lord over us (we are not slaves of a different spirit)?” 5“Because of the devastation of the afflicted (offences against the righteous), because of the groaning of the needy (those living in faith),
Now I will arise
(come to the aid of His people),” says the LORD; “I will set him in the safety for which he longs (to be in image of Christ).” 6The words of the LORD (operating in you) are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth (the refining fire in you), refined seven times (completely pure).

7You, O LORD, will keep them (abiding in You); You will preserve him from this generation (those that come to offend) forever. 8The wicked strut about on every side (God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble) When vileness is exalted (the old nature is exalted) among the sons of men.

Chapter 13

How long (must I endure), O LORD? Will You forget me forever (leave me feeling forsaken and alone)? How long will You hide Your face from me (feeling like I can never come into your likeness and your image)? 2How long shall I take counsel in my soul (longing to be changed into Your image), Having sorrow in my heart all the day (feeling deserted, alone and forsaken, not in your image and likeness)? How long will my enemy be exalted over me (those I love prevailing over me, attacking me and slandering me)?

3Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes (bring understanding and Your glory upon me), or I will sleep the sleep of death (fall away and not rise again into You), 4And my enemy will say, “I have overcome him (caused him to fall away, giving up hope of the resurrection),” And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken (yet one more time I will shake heaven and earth). 5But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness (your Spirit in me); My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation (being changed into Your image and likeness. 6I will sing to the LORD (the fruit of the Spirit, giving thanks to His name), Because He has dealt bountifully with me (cause me to be conformed into His image).

Chapter 14

The fool (the pretender that has fallen away) has said in his heart, “There is no God (to work in us).” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds (the old nature working in their heart, the temple of the Lord); There is no one who does good (walks in the gospel, the way). 2The LORD has looked down from heaven (the heavenly realm) upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand (has good soil to receive the word implanted), Who seek after God (His likeness and His image). 3They have all turned aside (fallen away), together they have become corrupt (gone after the world, the flesh and the devil); There is no one who does good (obeys the gospel), not even one (the earth was void).

4Do all the workers of wickedness (the deeds of the flesh, earthly) not know, Who eat up my people (devour the godly) as they eat bread, And do not call upon the Lord (His Spirit to manifest in them)? 5There they are in great dread (the judgment of God on them), For God is with the righteous generation (those that walk in the Spirit). 6You would put to shame (condemn the righteous) the counsel of the afflicted (those passing through the trials), But the LORD is his refuge (hidden in the shadow of the Almighty). 7Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion (where God dwells)! When the LORD restores His captive people (the bondslaves of Christ), Jacob (those not changed yet) will rejoice, Israel (those changed into the image of Christ) will be glad (abiding in His image).

Chapter 15

O LORD, who may abide in Your tent (abiding in the image of Christ)? Who may dwell on Your holy hill (ascend the hill of the Lord, with clean hands and a pure heart)? 2He who walks with integrity (obeys the gospel), and works righteousness (doers of the royal law, and does the righteous acts), And speaks truth in his heart (his tongue speaks out of a perfect heart). 3He does not slander with his tongue (speak of the tree of knowledge of good and evil), Nor does evil to his neighbor (loves his neighbor as himself), Nor takes up a reproach against his friend (submits to them as unto the Lord);

4In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those who fear the LORD (by obeying the gospel at all costs); He swears to his own hurt and does not change (will only obey the gospel in trials of his faith); 5He does not put out his money at interest (uses other for gain), Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent (take advantage of the righteous man). He who does these things will never be shaken (when He shakes heaven and earth with trials, in us).

Chapter 16

Preserve me (the image of Christ being formed in me), O God, for I take refuge in You (in Your image and likeness). 2I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord (my submission to Your Spirit); I have no good besides You (what You do in me by faith).” 3As for the saints (those walking in the Way) who are in the earth (not fully overcome as yet), They are the majestic ones (His life manifesting in the His body) in whom is all my delight (to be one with them). 4The sorrows (judgment) of those who have bartered for another god (allowed the false idols to take over their life) will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their drink offerings of blood (become one in Spirit with them), Nor will I take their names (their fleshly nature) upon my lips (the fruit of unrighteousness).

5The LORD is the portion (my land promised is Him, not in this world) of my inheritance (the land promised, flowing with milk and honey) and my cup (the cup of suffering); You support my lot (my provision is the Lord). 6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places (in my circumcised heart); Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me (rejoicing in the grace of the Lord). 7I will bless the LORD who has counseled me (taught by His Spirit); Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night (in times of darkness). 8I have set the LORD continually before me (by delighting to do His will); Because He is at my right hand (my strength and power), I will not be shaken (when He shakes heaven and earth, earthquakes in various places, in me).

9Therefore my heart (circumcised heart) is glad and my glory (the radiance of light, His glory) rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely (be submitted to the Spirit of God). 10For You will not abandon my soul (give up on me) to Sheol (from the presence of the Lord); Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay (fall away from Your life). 11You will make known to me the path of life (into the fullness of God); In Your presence is fullness of joy (our joy made full, in Him); In Your right hand (doing the works/deeds of God) there are pleasures forever.

Chapter 17

Hear a just cause, O LORD, give heed to my cry (groanings to become a new creation); Give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips (the tongue has been tamed by the Holy Spirit). 2Let my judgment (of justice and righteousness) come forth from Your presence (by your abiding in Me); Let Your eyes look with equity (treat me according to Your word). 3You have tried my heart (refined me over and over as silver refined seven times); You have visited me by night (tested me in my times of darkness); You have tested me (with trials and tribulations) and You find nothing (pure in heart from the refining); I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress (speak only the truth, obeying the gospel).

4As for the deeds of men (the old nature of man), by the word of Your lips (the gospel of Jesus Christ) I have kept from the paths of the violent (practicing the sins of the old flesh nature, not loving others). 5My steps have held fast to Your paths (the narrow way that leads to life). My feet have not slipped (not walked in the way of the world and the flesh). 6I have called upon You, for You will answer me (for You promised to answer those abiding in You), O God; Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech.

7Wondrously show Your lovingkindness (Your favor), O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand (submitted to the will of Christ) From those who rise up against them (the ones coming and bringing offense). 8Keep me as the apple of the eye (in whom Your Spirit delights); Hide me in the shadow of Your wings (in Your image and likeness) 9From the wicked (pretenders) who despoil me (try to cause me to fall away), My deadly enemies who surround me (constantly bring trials and testing).

10They have closed their unfeeling heart (became deadened due to sin), With their mouth they speak proudly (boast in who they are). 11They have now surrounded us in our steps (our walk of faith and obedience); They set their eyes to cast us down to the ground (cause us to go back to the flesh and the world, falling away). 12He is like a lion (the beasts of the field, controlled by demons) that is eager to tear (hurt me in my walk), And as a young lion lurking in hiding places (attacking when I least expect it).

13Arise, O LORD, confront him, bring him low (make him stumble over the stumbling stone); Deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword (the sword of truth, the word of God), 14From men with Your hand, O LORD, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life (chosen to go back to the world and what it offers), And whose belly You fill with Your treasure (by deceiving them with deceptive words and causing them to fall away); They are satisfied with children, And leave their abundance to their babes. 15As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness (come into Your image and likeness); I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake (from the dust of the ground, the old nature).

Chapter 18

“I love You, O LORD, my strength (which is perfected in my weakness and subjection to the gospel).” 2The LORD is my rock (my solid foundation I can depend on) and my fortress (safe place, abiding in You) and my deliverer (delivering me from the world, the flesh, and the devil), My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge (by abiding in You); My shield (protected by living the gospel) and the horn of my salvation (by Your living in me), my stronghold (hiding safely in your image). 3I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised (manifesting His gospel of love), And I am saved from my enemies (by obeying the gospel of love). 4The cords of death encompassed me (trying to cause me to fall away or fail in my pursuit of Him), And the torrents of ungodliness terrified me (those assaulting me with the deeds of the flesh).

5The cords of Sheol (separating me from the Presence) surrounded me (trying to lead me away from the gospel); The snares of death (the life of the old nature) confronted me (wanting me to stumble, to accuse me before God). 6In my distress (the assaults of the reapers against me, demanding the fruit of the Spirit) I called upon the LORD, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple (where He abides on the throne of righteousness and justice, in me), And my cry for help before Him came into His ears. 7Then the earth shook and quaked (yet one more time I will shake heaven and earth to transform and purify me); And the foundations of the mountains were trembling (to test the foundations) And were shaken, because He was angry (the wrath of God, the judgment, changes us and shapes us into His image). 8Smoke (fire of judgment) went up out of His nostrils, And fire (a consuming fire, refining us and burning up the dross in us) from His mouth (His voice consuming our old nature) devoured; Coals were kindled by it (making us a living sacrifice).

9He bowed the heavens (the heavenly realm) also, and came down (from the heavenly realm, to do His work in our fleshly realm) With thick darkness under His feet (putting the enemies of darkness under His body, each of us). 10He rode upon a cherub and flew; And He sped upon the wings of the wind (His Spirit dwells and rides on the truth). 11He made darkness His hiding place (dwelling in the mysteries of His will), His canopy around Him (hides in darkness, where only the righteous can enter through faith), Darkness of waters (the living waters where only the righteous can partake), thick clouds of the skies (the mysteries of Christ). 12From the brightness before Him (in the true body of Christ) passed His thick clouds, Hailstones and coals of fire (the testing of the saints, the destruction of the wicked).

13The LORD also thundered (His voice) in the heavens (the heavenly realm where we dwell, in Him), And the Most High uttered His voice (revealed His mysteries of truth), Hailstones and coals of fire (the test and purify the righteous, destroy the wicked). 14He sent out His arrows (piercing the heart, testing the intent of the heart), and scattered them (separated the righteous from the wicked), And lightning flashes in abundance (the fiery trials), and routed them (cause the pretenders to fall away). 15Then the channels of water (the flow of the Spirit) appeared, And the foundations of the world were laid bare (exposed the false foundations, revealed the true foundations) At Your rebuke, O LORD, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils. 16He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters (all the false doctrines, deceiving me).

17He delivered me from my strong enemy (the evil one sworn to cause me to fall away), And from those who hated me (the beasts of the field), for they were too mighty for me (without the power of the Spirit). 18They confronted me in the day of my calamity (when they tried to cause me to fall away), But the LORD was my stay (caused me to stand firm and persevere). 19He brought me forth also into a broad place (in the fullness of the image of Christ); He rescued me, because He delighted in me (because I stayed in the way of righteousness). 20The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness (manifested Himself in me, because of the righteous acts of the saints I walked in); According to the cleanness of my hands (pure hands because I kept my hands from practicing evil) He has recompensed me (gave me what was promised).

21For I have kept the ways of the LORD (the walk of righteousness, the gospel), And have not wickedly departed from my God (by falling away after the flesh and the world). 22For all His ordinances were before me (the teaching of the gospel, of which I lived), And I did not put away His statutes from me (by refusing to obey His commandments in the gospel). 23I was also blameless with Him (had clean hands and a pure heart), And I kept myself from my iniquity (sins of the flesh). 24Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness (His righteous acts He manifested in me), According to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes (according to the work of His Spirit in me).

25With the kind You show Yourself kind (give kindness and it will be given to you); With the blameless You show Yourself  blameless (do not judge, and you will not be judged); 26With the pure You show Yourself pure (the pure in heart will see God, abiding in them), And with the crooked You show Yourself astute (judged according to your deeds, at all times). 27For You save an afflicted people (humble themselves and subject themselves to the trials, trusting Him), But haughty eyes You abase (cause the proud to fall, falling away). 28For You light my lamp (manifest Your righteousness, Your glory, in me); The LORD my God illumines my darkness (causes the light, Your glory, to be manifested in me, driving out the darkness). 29For by You I can run upon a troop (take down my enemies by obeying the gospel of righteousness); And by my God I can leap over a wall (overcome all obstacles).

30As for God, His way is blameless (clean hands and a pure heart); The word of the LORD is tried (tried and perfected in us by obeying it); He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him (by abiding in Him). 31For who is God, but the LORD (Jesus Christ)? And who is a rock (Jesus Christ), except our God, 32The God who girds me (shores me up in times of trouble) with strength (due to my walking in His weakness) And makes my way blameless (purifies my heart, no wicked way in me)? 33He makes my feet (my walk) like hinds’ feet (skirt the dangers and evil way), And sets me upon my high places (by abiding in Him).

34He trains my hands for battle (by walking in His gospel of righteousness), So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze (battling at the flesh level). 35You have also given me the shield of Your salvation (the gospel of righteousness), And Your right hand (Your strength) upholds me (will not let me fall away); And Your gentleness makes me great (by Your life manifesting in me). 36You enlarge my steps under me (great strides coming into Your image and likeness), And my feet have not slipped (fallen away in my pursuit into Him). 37I pursued my enemies and overtook them (by walking in the gospel), And I did not turn back until they were consumed (by submitting to the gospel).

38I shattered them (with the truth of the word), so that they were not able to rise (to attack me again); They fell under my feet (as I walked in the way). 39For You have girded me with strength for battle (made me strong, as I submitted to the gospel in weakness); You have subdued under me those who rose up against me (reapers that come to cause me to fall away, the testing of my faith). 40You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me (made them vulnerable), And I destroyed those who hated me (by walking in the gospel). 41They cried for help, but there was none to save, Even to the LORD, but He did not answer them (because they are not walking in the way of righteousness).

42Then I beat them fine as the dust before the wind (walking in the gospel grinds them to dust); I emptied them out as the mire of the streets (by walking in the true gospel). 43You have delivered me from the contentions of the people (those that come to offend me, to cause me to fall); You have placed me as head of the nations (ruling and reigning in righteousness); A people whom I have not known serve me (am king because I reign in Christ). 44As soon as they hear, they obey me (because I rule in the righteousness of the gospel of love); Foreigners submit to me (because I walk in the commands of the gospel). 45Foreigners fade away (fall away from the faith), And come trembling out of their fortresses (exposed because their old flesh nature is leading them).

46The LORD lives, and blessed be my rock (the image of Jesus Christ, the firm foundation); And exalted be the God of my salvation (the one that leads me into His image, the fullness), 47The God who executes vengeance for me (righteous judgment), And subdues peoples under me (because I am ascending into the heavenly realm in Christ). 48He delivers me from my enemies (those that come to reap of my fields, gathering fruit); Surely You lift me above those who rise up against me (to cause me to fall away, not standing firm); You rescue me from the violent man (those that come to offend me). 49Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations (by manifesting the image of Christ), O LORD, And I will sing praises (sacrifices of the righteous acts of the gospel) to Your name (Your nature, your image and likeness). 50He gives great deliverance to His king (the Spirit of Christ, living in me), And shows lovingkindness to His anointed (those being transformed into His image), To David and his descendants forever (the body of Christ).

Chapter 19

The heavens (the heavenly places in Christ) are telling of the glory of God (revealing His glory, His image and likeness through His saints); And their expanse (His Spirit working in us) is declaring the work of His hands (revealed in us as His new creation). 2Day to day (in the light of day) pours forth speech (our tongue giving praise to His name), And night to night reveals knowledge (our walk of Christ in times of darkness). 3There is no speech, nor are there words (publicly portraying Christ as crucified in or walk, the cross); Their voice is not heard (because they’re not using persuasive words of wisdom).

4Their line (the gospel revealed in us) has gone out through all the earth (sounding forth the gospel), And their utterances (fruit of the Spirit from holy lips) to the end of the world (revealed to every creature). In them (in us) He has placed a tent (a dwelling place of God) for the sun (the light of Christ), 5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber (Jesus Christ); It rejoices as a strong man to run his course (the Holy Spirit bringing us into His image). 6Its rising is from one end of the heavens (the first heavens), And its circuit to the other end of them (the highest heavens where Christ dwells, His abode fully in us); And there is nothing hidden from its heat (the fiery trials that transform us, purging away our old nature).

7The law of the LORD is perfect (the royal law, the gospel), restoring the soul (transformed into His image and likeness); The testimony of the LORD (manifestation of Christ) is sure, making wise the simple (revealing the true knowledge, giving true wisdom). 8The precepts of the LORD (His ways in Christ) are right, rejoicing the heart (by the circumcision of our heart); The commandment of the LORD (to love your neighbor as yourself) is pure, enlightening the eyes (our spirit enlightened). 9The fear of the LORD is clean (His work in us of eternal life), enduring forever (endure to the end, His image and likeness); The judgments of the LORD are true (refined through His righteous judgment); they are righteous altogether (achieving the fullness of Christ, in us).

10They are more desirable than gold (purity after the refining fire), yes, than much fine gold (the final refining, leaving only His image and likeness); Sweeter also than honey (the sweetness of His word that transforms us) and the drippings of the honeycomb (from the heart of God). 11Moreover, by them Your servant is warned (not to shrink back from the gospel); In keeping them there is great reward (the final salvation to be revealed in us). 12Who can discern his errors (ways I have stumbled)? Acquit me of hidden faults (forgive me of hidden sins being revealed and purged through fiery trials).

13Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins (disobeying the Lords gospel); Let them not rule over me (set me free from slavery of sin); Then I will be blameless (found perfect in His sight), And I shall be acquitted of great transgression (the sins ruling over me and enslaving me). 14Let the words of my mouth (praise, from a tamed tongue) and the meditation of my heart (my heart in pursuit of the high calling of Christ) Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer (Jesus Christ).

Chapter 20

1May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble (assaults of the beasts of the field)! May the name (the nature and image) of the God of Jacob set you securely on high (in Him)!2May He send you help from the sanctuary (the Spirit of God working to your good) And support you from Zion (where God dwells)! 3May He remember all your meal offerings (a living sacrifice, your fruitful grain, ground and purged by fire) And find your burnt offering acceptable (the dying daily, a living sacrifice)! Selah.

4May He grant you your heart’s desire (to be born again into His image and likeness) And fulfill all your counsel (the longing He cultivated in your heart through His word)! 5We will sing for joy over your victory (your ascension into His fullness, where Christ dwells), And in the name (His nature and image) of our God we will set up our banners (reveal His life, through us). May the LORD fulfill all your petitions (crying out to Him with loud crying and tears to the One able to save us from death). 6Now I know that the LORD saves (transforms into a new creation) His anointed (the one walking in the Spirit); He will answer him from His holy heaven (from the holy temple He established in us) With the saving strength of His right hand (His power to transform us into His image and likeness).

7Some boast in chariots and some in horses (the ways of the religious flesh, to accomplish God’s purpose), But we will boast in the name (His nature and image working in us) of the LORD, our God. 8They have bowed down and fallen (those that come to cause us to stumble and fall away), But we have risen and stood upright (standing firm in faith in His image and likeness). 9Save, O LORD (make us a new creation, the image of You); May the King (Jesus) answer us in the day we call (by the resurrection of the dead, His life manifesting fully in us).

Chapter 21

O LORD, in Your strength the king (the King of the kings, the Son of Man, His body, with Christ the head) will be glad, And in Your salvation (the new creation life in us) how greatly he will rejoice (because He is being changed into His image)! 2You have given him his heart’s desire (to know Him and abide in Him), And You have not withheld the request of his lips (crying out with loud crying and tears, to the one able to save him). Selah.

3For You meet him with the blessings of good things (His heavenly treasures, His reward, like Melchizedek met Abraham and blessed him); You set a crown of fine gold on his head (His glory, His crown of righteousness). 4He asked life of You (to walk in His gospel, His commandments), You gave it (His life and His image) to him, Length of days forever and ever (eternal life). 5His glory (manifesting His life) is great through Your salvation (His image revealed in you), Splendor and majesty You place upon him (His glory). 6For You make him most blessed forever (no longer him that lives, but Christ living in him); You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence (abiding in Him).

7For the king (the Son of Man, and His body) trusts in the LORD (to accomplish His will, to become a new creation), And through the lovingkindness of the Most High (at work in us) he will not be shaken (when the birth pangs and shaking/earthquakes come). 8Your hand will find out all your enemies (by dealing justly with them according to the gospel); Your right hand will find out those who hate you (by forgiving them seventy times seven). 9You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger (through the judgment that comes by obeying the gospel); The LORD will swallow them up in His wrath (because you walk in love, His gospel), And fire will devour them (because they refused to submit to the gospel of love).

10Their offspring (the sons of those born according to the flesh, the pretenders) You will destroy from the earth (by their old flesh nature), And their descendants from among the sons of men (those that have chosen disobedience). 11Though they intended evil against You (by offending the Son of Man and His body) And devised a plot (to cause you to fall away), They will not succeed (you will stand firm). 12For You will make them turn their back (turn away from the gospel); You will aim with Your bowstrings (your weapons, the gospel of love) at their faces (the image at work in them). 13Be exalted, O LORD, in Your strength (which is perfected in our weakness); We will sing and praise (our lips and tongue perfected by the gospel) Your power (Your grace working in us).

Chapter 22

(Remember, although this is written about the Christ, the coming Messiah, it is written for our instruction. This is about the Son of Man, the body of Christ, Jesus the head, leading us by example, to walk in. Everything He endured, was an shadow for us that come later.)

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me (left me to feel deserted by my God, the ultimate test)? Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning (longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, the fullness of God). 2O my God, I cry (loud crying and tears to the One able to save us from death) by day (in times of light), but You do not answer (because we must endure to the end); And by night (in times of darkness), but I have no rest (travailing as a woman in childbirth). 3Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises (fruit of righteous lips) of Israel  (the people of God walking in His faith). 4In You our fathers trusted (walked by His faith); They trusted and You delivered them (by fulfilling Your promise in them).

5To You they cried out and were delivered; In You they trusted and were not disappointed. 6But I am a worm and not a man (descended into the lower parts of the earth), A reproach of men and despised by the people (enduring the way into the life of God). 7All who see me sneer at me (for walking in the gospel, the life of God); They separate with the lip (speaking words of discouragement and harassment), they wag the head (mocking the obedience to the gospel), saying, 8“Commit yourself to the LORD (and live out His gospel); let Him deliver him (by transforming him into His likeness); Let Him rescue him (by abiding in the shadow of the Almighty), because He delights in him (when He see His likeness).”

9Yet You are He who brought me forth from the womb (started the new creation birth in me); You made me trust when upon my mother’s breasts (when I was only partaking of milk for babes). 10Upon You I was cast from birth (I trusted You to mature me into Your fullness); You have been my God from my mother’s womb (when my new birth started). 11Be not far from me, for trouble is near (in this walk of faith and endurance to the end) ; For there is none to help (until the work of the Holy Spirit is finished, in me). 12Many bulls have surrounded me (the wild beasts offending and persecuting me); Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me (we are surrounded by them in this walk). 13They open wide their mouth at me (coming against the truth of the gospel), As a ravening and a roaring lion (the beast of the field). 14I am poured out like water (the living water is poured out like wine as a drink offering), And all my bones are out of joint (from being a sheep led to the slaughter); My heart is like wax; It is melted within me (by the fires of testing and trials).

15My strength is dried up like a potsherd (because I’m being born again through weakness, becoming HIS strength), And my tongue cleaves to my jaws (for lack of living water to sustain me); And You lay me in the dust of death (so we can be raised in the newness of His life). 16For dogs (unbelievers) have surrounded me ; A band of evildoers has encompassed me (to cause me to shrink back to destruction); They pierced my hands (the gospel I put my hands to) and my feet (my walk of the gospel). 17I can count all my bones (the look of wasting away, following the walk of Christ). They look, they stare at me (those around me that think I have lost my mind, following the walk of Christ); 18They divide my garments among them (because I endure in righteousness), And for my clothing they cast lots (to take my garments of salvation, the fine linen, the wedding garments, of the bride).

19But You, O LORD, be not far off (never leave us or forsake us); O You my help, hasten to my assistance (and soon raise me up in His fullness). 20Deliver my soul from the sword (the curse of death), My only life from the power of the dog (the unbeliever). 21Save me from the lion’s mouth (the beast of the field); From the horns of the wild oxen (beasts trying to gore me) You answer me. 22I will tell of Your name (the nature of Your life) to my brethren (sound forth the gospel); In the midst of the assembly I will praise You (with fruit of the Spirit, His love, on my lips).

23You who fear the LORD, praise Him (with a perfected tongue, from fruitful lips of love); All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him (by letting His glory shine upon you, His light), And stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel (the true sons of Abraham, by His faith). 24For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted (it pleases Him that we suffer for righteousness sake); Nor has He hidden His face from him (He was always there in our trials, our strength and our shield); But when he cried to Him for help, He heard. 25From You comes my praise in the great assembly (all can see the salvation of God, in us); I shall pay my vows (to abide in His love, loving the brethren) before those who fear Him. 26The afflicted will eat (the living bread, his life) and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the LORD (our mouths offering fruit from our lips). Let your heart live forever (eternal life living in us)!

27All the ends of the earth (the called, chosen, and faithful, from the ends of the earth) will remember and turn to the LORD (be transformed into His image and likeness), And all the families of the nations will worship before You (become a living sacrifice). 28For the kingdom is the LORD’S And He rules over the nations (by abiding in weakness, HIS strength). 29All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship (having the true riches, true prosperity), All those who go down to the dust will bow before Him (by humbling themselves to the point of death), Even he who cannot keep his soul alive (and must trust in Him to save).  30Posterity will serve Him (we become fruitful and multiply); It will be told of the Lord to the coming generation (those that become imitators of us, our walk of Christ). 31They will come and will declare His righteousness (by our walk of the gospel) To a people who will be born (born again due to our gospel, preached through His life in us), that He has performed it (in us).
