The Glorious Church
Subject Yourselves To One Another, The Key To Ruling, Reigning, and Dominion
Therefore, it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. Rom 13:5
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, 14or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. 15For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. 16Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. 17Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.
18Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unreasonable. 19For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.
21For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; 23and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. 1Pet 2:13-25
In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, 2as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. 3Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 4but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.5For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands; 6just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.
7You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
8To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kind hearted, and humble in spirit; 9not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.
10For, “THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT. 1Pet 3:1-10
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive (we will all be changed). But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet (the body of Christ). The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself (the Son of Man) also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all. 1Cor 15:22-28
21who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself (in us). Phil 3:21
The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet (us his body).” The LORD will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” Ps 110:1,2
For He did not subject to angels the world to come (the new heavens and the new earth), concerning which we are speaking. 6But one has testified somewhere, saying, “WHAT IS MAN, THAT YOU REMEMBER HIM? OR THE SON OF MAN, THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HIM?
7“YOU HAVE MADE HIM FOR A LITTLE WHILE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND HAVE APPOINTED HIM OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS; 8YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET.” For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him (because God’s people have not been subjecting themselves). Heb 2:5-8
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood (the old nature), He Himself likewise also partook of the same (, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15and might free those who through fear of death (being subjected to the flesh attacked) were subject to slavery all their lives. 16For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. 17Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. Heb 2:14-18
Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question: “What do you think about the Christ, whose son is He?” They said to Him, “The son of David.” He said to them, “Then how does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying, “THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES BENEATH YOUR FEET”’? “If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?” No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question. Matt 22:41-46
“David himself said in the Holy Spirit, “THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES BENEATH YOUR FEET.”’ Mark 12:38
“For David himself says in the book of Psalms, THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.”’ Luke 20:42,43
“For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: ‘THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.” “Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.” Acts 2:34-36
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Eph 1:17-23
But to which of the angels has He ever said, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET”? Heb 1:13
but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. Heb 10:12-14
The women (spiritually speaking, those immature in Christ) are to keep silent (not prophesy) in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak (by interpreting the mysteries), but are to subject themselves, just as the Law (the true Law) also says. 1Cor 14:34
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
20always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. 22Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Eph 5:15-17,20-24
7With good will render service (subject yourself), as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back (give and it will be given to you) from the Lord, whether slave or free. Eph 6:7
But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. 2Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
3Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
6Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; 7in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, 8sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
9Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
1Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, 2to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. Titus 3:1,2
7It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.9Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. 11All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Heb 12:7-11
3nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. 4And when the Chief Shepherd appears (in you), you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 1Pet 5:3,4
The Least Is The Greatest
My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. 2For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes,3and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” 4have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives? 5Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court? 7Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called?
8If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF,” you are doing well. 9But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. 11For He who said, “DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,” also said, “DO NOT COMMIT MURDER.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.12So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. 13For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:1-6
15‘You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly. 16‘You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the LORD.
17‘You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may surely reprove your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him. 18‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD. Lev 19:15-18
Prayer Of The Righteous—Oh righteous Father, cause us to always choose last, so we can be truly be first, in you.
The Last Is The First
Now, some of the interpretations of these four times this parable is used is this: The owner of the vineyard, the landowner, is God/Jesus, the laborers are us, called to do the works of God, in this life. The Jew believed they were already the called of God, already having eternal life, believing they were first in the kingdom. The Gentile, knowing nothing of God, was the last. Because the Jew refused to accept the true gospel of the kingdom, Christ Himself, they would be last, and the Gentile first, even though it came to them, they are thrown out, allowing the Gentile to enter first.
Second, the parable speaks of some of us called early, bearing the burden of filling up want is lacking in Christs affliction, and travailing through the fires of testing. Jesus called it having borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day. Others are called later and endure little time and trials to the end of the journey, such as the thief on the cross. To whom much given, much is required. By God’s choice, we are treated equal in the end and all end up with the same reward, the fullness of God. We are never to be jealous over what God decides for each of us, some enduring much and some enduring little.
Third, the rich Jew thought their riches, even though they were blessed of God, allowed them to do good things, obey the laws, and enter the kingdom of God. But their hearts had to be changed, circumcision of the heart, and it was a stumbling block to them, and they stumbled over the stumbling stone, the image of Christ. It is very hard for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God, because their heart is attached to their riches. So, the last became first, and the first became last. The kingdom of God was taken away and given to the last.
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers (to sound forth the gospel) for his vineyard. 2“When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3“And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place; 4and to those he said, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ And so they went. 5“Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same thing. 6“And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’ 7“They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’
“When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last group to the first.’ 9“When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a denarius. 10“When those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius. 11“When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner, 12saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.’ 13“But he answered and said to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14‘Take what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15‘Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?’ 16“So the last shall be first, and the first last.” Matt 20:8-16
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; 27but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 28and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, 29so that no man may boast before God. 1Cor 1:26-29
As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 18And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19“You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.’” 20And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” 21Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.
23And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?” 27Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
28Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” 29Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, 30but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. 31“But many who are first will be last, and the last, first.” Mark 10:17-31
22And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem. 23And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them,24“Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25“Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26“Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence (had communion with you), and You taught in our streets’; 27and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS (practice the old nature).’ 28“In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out. 29“And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. 30“And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last.” Luke 13:22-30
The Greatest Is The Servant Of All
“But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments. 6“They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men. 8“But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9“Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10“Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. 11“But the greatest among you shall be your servant. 12“Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. Matt 23:5-12
“But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. 27“For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves. Luke 22:26,27
The Humble Is Exalted
And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God. Luke 16:15
The Fullness Of Him
In these last days, God is revealing one of His greatest mysteries. The “body” God desired, the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, is the church of Jesus Christ, Jesus being the head. Christ was also a type of the new creation Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, living in the temple of the Lord, His people. We are the final sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God desired, if we die daily, and manifest His glorious life to the world. Heavy stuff to comprehend, but God says it is time to reveal it. The Lord sits at the right hand of God, putting his enemies under His feet, the church, until all is in subjection to Him. What a pleasure, a true honor it is, to be part of what God is doing through His people to the rulers and powers in heavenly places. To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones (Saints). Praise the LORD! Ps. 149:9
And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, “SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME; 6IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE. 7“THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’”
8After saying above, “SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them” (which are offered according to the Law), 9then He said, “BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DOYOUR WILL.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Heb 10:5-10
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Matt 5:6
As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake. Ps 17:15
For in Him (when you are in His image) all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh (the old nature) by the circumcision of Christ; 12having been buried with Him in baptism (baptism of suffering), in which you were also raised up (resurrection from the dead) with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. Col2:9-12
The Knowledge Of Good “And” Evil
‘Moreover, your little ones who you said would become a prey, and your sons, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, shall enter there, and I will give it to them and they shall possess it. Deut 1:39
Being Sifted Like Wheat
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; 32but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31,32
To Fall Away
To fall away, is to fall away from your faith, not completing the journey into the likeness of Christ. It means you are turning back to the old nature, slaves of sin. Now this is a great mystery, but to test you and see if you fall away, is part of the plan of God. Here is an example… “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; 32but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31,32
So, we see that you can fall away and your faith not fail, but your turn again, and now you can strengthen others. Most all fall away at some point, which is part of the plan of God. Jesus comes as a thief (Satan sifting us like wheat) to test our hearts, to see if we fall away. If we fall, we must get up and move ahead in our journey into Him.
Now, to actually fall away, and not return to the journey, will result in the loss of all things, including your crown, the crown of righteousness. Only those that endure to the end by faith, will be saved.
“In a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; 17and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.
“Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 8:13
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 1Tim 4:1
I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me. Ps 10:3
You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, 2Pet 3:17
The “Will of God”
Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; 6not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. 7With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free. 9And masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. Eph 6:5-9

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Heb 10:36
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 1Cor 15:1
“The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John; since that time the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.17“But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail. Luke 16:16,17
6Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. 17What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. 18For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise. Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made. Gal 3:14-19
For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. 1Pet 2:15
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4
12Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 14If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 1Pet 4:12-14
17For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER? 19Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right. 1Pet 4:17-19
10After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you (His image and likeness). 1Pet 5:10
42So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. 49Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly 1Cor 15:41-49
14It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, 15to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” 16These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.
17But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. 20But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh. Jude 14-23
Through His Poverty, We Become Rich
The True Riches
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 2Cor 8:9
But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; 10and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. 11For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away. James 1:9-11
Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” Luke 12:15
And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man was very productive. 17“And he began reasoning to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’ 18“Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19‘And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.”’ 20“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’ 21“So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:16-21
Now He was also saying to the disciples, “There was a rich man who had a manager, and this manager was reported to him as squandering his possessions.2“And he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’ 3“The manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig; I am ashamed to beg. 4‘I know what I shall do, so that when I am removed from the management people will welcome me into their homes.’ 5“And he summoned each one of his master’s debtors, and he began saying to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ 6“And he said, ‘A hundred measures of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ 7“Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ 8“And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.9“And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, they will receive you into the eternal dwellings (the true body of Christ).
10“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. 11“Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? 12“And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own? 13“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Luke 16:1-13
“At that time I will bring you in, Even at the time when I gather you together; Indeed, I will give you renown and praise Among all the peoples of the earth, When I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” Says the LORD. Zeph 3:20
“Riches and honor are with me, Enduring wealth and righteousness. 19“My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold, And my yield better than choicest silver. 20“I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice, 21To endow those who love me with wealth, That I may fill their treasuries. Prov 8:18
as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing all things. 2Cor 6:10
Aliens And Strangers
Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. 12Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation. 1Pet 2:11
A City Without Foundations
The Coming Glory
Show Me Thy Glory
The glory of the Lord is the image of God. And from the beginning His desire was to make man (mankind), in his image and likeness, revealing His glory in “the new man”, the living Body of Jesus Christ, Christ being the head. The glory of God, his glorious image, is His living nature. It is His Name given to Him by the Father, and He wanted man to receive the “new name”, written on a white stone, for those that stand firm and hold fast to His name, the eternal life, that is to be revealed in them.
The children of Israel were only given shadows of God, because God knew their hearts, that they had not been purified through testing yet. But Moses was not satisfied with that, only seeing a shadow. Moses, foretelling of the groaning Spirit in us, the new creation today, said therefore, “I PRAY YOU, SHOW ME THY GLORY!” God offered Moses his backside, what he had done, but Moses was not satisfied. He hungered for more, and willing to take the risk, because God is a consuming fire.
That was a frightening thing for Moses to ask, and God warned Moses, “No one can see my face and live.” Moses dared to trust God, desiring to see God face to face, as do we. As we are transformed into his image and likeness, we behold as in a mirror, the glory, His glory in us, and it surely does cost us our lives. Abiding in God’s glory, is the eternal life.
But He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!” Ex 33:20
Heir Of All Things
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. Heb 1:1-4
The Work Of Angels
And of the angels He says, “WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.” Heb 1:7
The Righteous And Unrighteous Scepters
As you should know by this point, the book of Psalms is also a book of parables. This Chapter in Psalms 45 is amazing and loaded with a number of keys to unlock the mysteries of God. Comparing it to Hebrews 1 where it was quoted in part, we can see how it was interpreted by the Hebrews writer. I will attempt to interpret a little, to give you a hint of what is revealed here.
My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my verses to the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. 2You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever. 3Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, In Your splendor and Your majesty!
4And in Your majesty (the true glory) ride on victoriously (overcoming), For the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness (the true image and likeness); Let Your right hand teach You awesome things. 5Your arrows (fruit of righteous lips) are sharp; The peoples fall under You; Your arrows (fruit of righteous lips) are in the heart of the King’s enemies. 6Your throne (place of reigning in righteousness), O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
7You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows. 8All Your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made You glad. 9Kings’ daughters are among Your noble ladies; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
10Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father’s house; 11Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him. 12The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor. 13The King’s daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold.
14She will be led to the King in embroidered work; The virgins, her companions who follow her, Will be brought to You. 15They will be led forth with gladness and rejoicing; They will enter into the King’s palace. 16In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make them princes in all the earth. 17I will cause Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give You thanks forever and ever.
8But of the Son He says, “YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. 9“YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS.” Heb 1:8,9
The LORD will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” Ps 110:2
5“The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of rulers. Is 14:5
‘And fire has gone out from its branch; It has consumed its shoots and fruit, So that there is not in it a strong branch, A scepter to rule.’” This is a lamentation, and has become a lamentation. Ez 19:14
‘Sharpened to make a slaughter, Polished to flash like lightning!’ Or shall we rejoice, the rod (scepter) of My son despising every tree? 13“For there is a testing; and what if even the rod which despises will be no more?” declares the Lord GOD. Ez 21:10,11
‘He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; 27AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father; 28and I will give him the morning star. Rev 2:27
And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. Rev 12:5
From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Rev 19:15
The New Jerusalem
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Heb 12:22-24
The Sons Of Zadok
“It shall be for the priests who are sanctified of the sons of Zadok, who have kept My charge, who did not go astray when the sons of Israel went astray as the Levites went astray. Ex 48:11
“But the Levites who went far from Me when Israel went astray, who went astray from Me after their idols, shall bear the punishment for their iniquity. 11“Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house and ministering in the house; they shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them. 12“Because they ministered to them before their idols and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I have sworn against them,” declares the Lord GOD, “that they shall bear the punishment for their iniquity. 13“And they shall not come near to Me to serve as a priest to Me, nor come near to any of My holy things, to the things that are most holy; but they will bear their shame and their abominations which they have committed. 14“Yet I will appoint them to keep charge of the house, of all its service and of all that shall be done in it.
15“But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from Me, shall come near to Me to minister to Me; and they shall stand before Me to offer Me the fat and the blood,” declares the Lord GOD. 16“They shall enter My sanctuary; they shall come near to My table to minister to Me and keep My charge. Ez 44:10-16
The Feast Of Tabernacles
The Feast Of Tabernacles is the one feast that has not yet been fulfilled for the church. The Passover was Jesus Christ, the lamb of God, to take away the sins of the world. The feast of Pentecost was fulfilled when the Spirit was poured out on the people of God. The Feast of Tabernacles is fulfilled when Christ comes in fullness, in His people. Jesus was asked if He was going to come to the feast, and he said no. Then He went up in secret to the Feast. So, the Feast of Tabernacles will be the coming of the Lord in His people, in secret. Hint…. Hint….
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast (Feast of Tabernacles), Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water (eternal life).’” 39But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Jn 7:37-39
Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; 14but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” Jn 4:13,14
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. Prov 10:11
4The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. Prov 18:4
The Glory—Being Glorified
“I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. Jn 17:4,5
10when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.11To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power,12so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2Thes 1:10
“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. Jn 17:22-24
Being Made Perfect
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, Heb 12:22,23
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4
For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. James 3:2
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Rom 12:1,2
that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
12Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.13Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; 16however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained. Phil 3:10-16
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. 11For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, Heb 2:10,11
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:1,2
For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 1Cor 13:9
Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Col 3:14
In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. 8Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. 9And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation (being made perfect also), 10being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Heb 5:7-10
The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, 9which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, 10since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation (when we can be made perfect). Heb 9:8-10
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19We love, because He first loved us. 20If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. 1Jn 4:18
For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. Heb 10:1
You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; Heb 12:4
And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect. Heb 11:39,40
God’s True Children
for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Rom 8:13-17
13Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, 15but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” 1Pet 1:13-16
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. Heb 2:14,15
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. 3And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1John 3:1-3
So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus (the gospel of Jesus Christ). Rev 12:17
To the woman He said, “I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire (to become a new creation) will be for your husband (by subjecting yourself to Him), And he will rule over you (through the gospel of Jesus Christ).” Gen 3:16
And You Shall Prophecy, Male And Female
“Would to God that all of His people did prophesy.” Num 11:29
So Moses went out and told the people the words of the LORD. Also, he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and stationed them around the tent. 25Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him; and He took of the Spirit who was upon him and placed Him upon the seventy elders. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But they did not do it again. 26But two men had remained in the camp; the name of one was Eldad and the name of the other Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them (now they were among those who had been registered, but had not gone out to the tent), and they prophesied in the camp.27So a young man ran and told Moses and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.” 28Then Joshua the son of Nun, the attendant of Moses from his youth, said, “Moses, my lord, restrain them.” 29But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the LORD’S people were prophets, that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!” Num 11:24-29
‘AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says, ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;
18EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy. 19‘AND I WILL GRANT WONDERS IN THE SKY ABOVE AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BELOW, BLOOD, AND FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE.
20‘THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD,
BEFORE THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD SHALL COME. 21‘AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’ Acts 2:17-21
“It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. 29“Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
30“I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke. 31“The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32“And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem There will be those who escape, As the LORD has said, Even among the survivors whom the LORD calls. Joel 2:28-32
Unity Of The Spirit
until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God (who he really is), to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming (definition of spiritual children); 15but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies , according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Eph 4:12-16
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:3
In the natural, we all know the meaning of giving thanks. But to the spiritual man, it means something far more. Our walk, our speech, our words, even our intent of the heart, all are giving thanks to the Lord. This is our sacrifice of thanksgiving, to Him in the Spirit.
He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. Rom 14:6
always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. Eph 5:20,21
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Col 3:12-17
Possessing Your Vessel In Honor
A Sweet Smelling Savour
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma (a sweet smelling savour). Eph 5:1
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:35,36
3We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; 4therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. 5This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. 6For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed. 11To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, 12so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2Thes:1:3-12
Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. 37“But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB. 38“Now He is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him. Luke 20:34-37
‘But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. 5‘He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Rev 3:4,5
The Mystery Of Godliness
Seeking The Righteousness Of God
8More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, 9and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, 10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
12Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; 16however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.
17Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. 18For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ,19whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. 20For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself. Phil 3:8
Some mysteries of the Kingdom contrary to human wisdom:
- Through death comes life.
- Through life comes death
- Through giving we receive.
- Through not judging we are judged righteously .
- Through righteous judging we are judged righteously.
- Through humbling ourselves we are exalted.
- Through exalting ourselves, we are humbled.
- Through losing our lives, we gain life.
- Through gaining our lives, we lose life.
- If we die, we live.
- If we live, we die.
- If we descend, we ascend.
- If we ascend, we decend.
- If we die, we reign
- If we reign, we will die.
- If we are sown in death, we are raised in life.
- We cannot come to life, unless we die.
- If we become a living sacrifice, we live.
Speaking Truth To One Another
This scripture is telling us how to speak truth and how not to speak truth…
Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another. 26BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down (your light diminish) on your anger, 27and do not give the devil an opportunity. 28He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. 29Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Eph 4:25-32
Do Not Love The World Or The Things Of The World
Thou Shalt Not Covet
COVET, verb transitive
- To desire or wish for, with eagerness; to desire earnestly to obtain or possess; in a good sense.
COVET earnestly the best gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:31.
- To desire inordinately; to desire that which it is unlawful to obtain or possess; in a bad sense.
Coveting, or desiring the things of the world, or friendship with the world, makes us adulteresses, and an enemy of God. Our hearts have idols in them, and we are practicing idolatry. Coveting does not only reflect desiring what others have, but wanting to be like them, having the worlds goods. “We call that keeping up with the Jones’.”
- Coveting is a desire for something.
- Coveting is intentionally desiring
- Coveting is a strong desire for something.
- Coveting is the desire to possess something which one does not have
- Coveting is the desire to possess not only what one can have, but what we cannot have.
- Coveting is the desire to have more of something, he or she does not have enough of.
- Coveting always wants more.
- Coveting is the willingness compete, to possess it even at the expense of others.
- Coveting is never satisfied.
- Coveting is idolatry
Lust of the Flesh
Lust of the Eyes
Boastful Pride of Life
15Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. 1Jn 2:15-17
4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (obeys the teaching of Christ.) 1Jn 5:4,5
4You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit (manifesting in us) which He has made to dwell in us”? James 4:4,5
The one that loves the world is an adulteress and is hostile toward God. One of the ten commandments is; “Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Obviously physical adultery is a sin, but in the Spirit, God was speaking of spiritual adultery, of which He becomes jealous. He wants our heart, our whole heart, and will not settle for anything less.
1Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3For you have died (the dead in Christ) and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, is revealed (manifested in you), then you also will be revealed with Him in glory (the coming of the Lord in you). Col 3:1-4
18“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.19“If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. Jn 15:18,19
2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed (changed into his image and likeness) by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Rom 12:2
23And Jesus *answered them, saying, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone (without the witness of the Spirit); but if it dies (chooses the cross of Jesus Christ), it bears much fruit. 25“He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal (manifest the eternal life). 26“If anyone serves Me (walks in His gospel), he must follow Me (and carry his cross daily); and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him (by making His abode in Him). Jn 12:23-26
1And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (led by the powers of darkness, the beast spirit), of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience (not obeying the gospel). Eph 2:1,2
24“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. Matt 6:24
Most of us put God to the test and try serving him and the pursuit of wealth. It will not work out well in the end and it will be too late. One of the ten commandments is; Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
The Four Essentials
Abstain from things sacrificed to idols.
Abstain from blood.
Abstain from things strangled.
Abstain from fornication.
If you keep yourself free from these things, you will do well.
Though this is certainly not the biggest revelation God has given me, but it has been the hardest to receive understanding. Thirty plus years I have been asking God for the interpretation and now, I have at least part of it.
The churches among the Gentiles were growing exponentially and some people came down from Jerusalem and told the Gentiles they also had to obey the law of Moses as Christians. It disturbed and brought chaos to the new believers and Paul and Barnabas went up to Jerusalem to question the Apostles and leaders there.
After studying what Paul told them in his revelations from Jesus, they came to a conclusion on the matter, and put it in a letter to the new Gentile converts. Notice they saw what was happening among the Gentiles as the tabernacle of David being restored, as prophesied. They knew at that time, David didn’t follow any of the rules of the Law, dwelling in the presence of the Lord with the ark of the covenant, in a mere tent. David actually sat in front of the ark, in the presence of the Lord, writing his Psalms. All the people came and worshiped in the presence of the Lord, without following the order of Moses. Under Moses they all would have died. The Apostles and leaders agreed, by the revelation from the Tabernacle of David, the letter of the Law didn’t apply at this time. Amazing revelation from God.
By the way, God is doing the same thing today, bypassing the old order, because it has become corrupted, exactly as it was in the days of David, and in the days of Jesus.
But they gave them four essentials that had to be obeyed, hidden in parables, like God always spoke to the masses. Here are the scriptures and the attempted interpretation, what I have so far.
‘AFTER THESE THINGS I will return, AND I WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN, AND I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL RESTORE IT, 17SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, AND ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,’ 18SAYS THE LORD, WHO MAKES THESE THINGS KNOWN FROM LONG AGO.
“Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols (idols are the things of this world) and from fornication (love of the world and love of the flesh) and from what is strangled (things that the blood, the old life, is not drained out of) and from blood (the old life because the life is in the blood). 21“For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” Acts 15:16-21
“The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to the brethren in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia who are from the Gentiles, greetings. 24“Since we have heard that some of our number to whom we gave no instruction have disturbed you with their words, unsettling your souls, 25it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27“Therefore we have sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28“For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols (idols are the things of this world) and from blood (the old life because the life is in the blood) and from things strangled (things that the blood, the old life, is not drained out of) and from fornication (love of the world and love of the flesh); if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.” Acts 15:23-29
Now while they were passing through the cities, they were delivering the decrees which had been decided upon by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem, for them to observe. 5So the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily. Acts 16:4,5
“In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David, And wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins And rebuild it as in the days of old; Amos:9:11
Egypt Is A False Help
Abraham went down to Egypt in his time of need, during a famine. In the Spirit, God is saying that is exactly what happens to us, the seed of Abraham, with the faith of Abraham. God sends a famine, part of His eternal plan to perfect us in Christ, and we are forced to go to Egypt (the worldly church) for our help, due to a famine of bread. It is to test us and see if Egypt will be used to accomplish the promise (ie; Haggar bearing the son promised, rather than waiting on Sarah, the true mother).
We have a promise, the man-child that will be birthed in us, the image and likeness of Christ. Egypt has many things to offer and they all seem right when you are starving. Everything appears godly there, but it is a form of godliness, denying His power, the transformed life. Everyone loves God and praises Him, but not obeying the gospel of Christ. But what we bring back from Egypt, is not the fulfillment of the promise, only our attempt to fulfil it in the flesh, because God delays his coming, His image in us. Be patient brethren until the coming of the Lord and Christ is formed in you. He will come as promised.
This certainly isn’t an indictment of all churches. Some are making every attempt to preach the truth as best they can, but most are only a shell of godliness.
7Even Egypt, whose help is vain and empty. Therefore, I have called her “Rahab who has been exterminated.” Is 30:7
8And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. Rev 11:8
Lifting Up Holy Hands
Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands (presenting to God hands that are holy), without wrath and dissension. 1Tim 2:8
Washing One Another’s Feet
The Year Of Jubilee
The Two Olive Trees, The Two Witnesses
3“And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way. 6These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
7When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them. 8And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 10And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. 12And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them. Rev 11:3-12
He said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it; 3also two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side.” Zech 4:2,3
Then I said to him, “What are these two olive trees on the right of the lampstand and on its left?” 12And I answered the second time and said to him, “What are the two olive branches which are beside the two golden pipes, which empty the golden oil from themselves?” 13So he answered me, saying, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” 14Then he said, “These are the two anointed ones who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth.” Zech 4:11-13
“The Man” And “The Woman”
“The Woman” (In The Spirit)
We know from Paul’s writings what happened in the beginning, and in the garden of Eden, was written for our instruction. God said, Let Us make man (mankind) in our image, according to Our likeness…. And let them rule…. This was God’s prophetic word, spoken at the beginning of us, the body of Jesus Christ that was to come. This is the likeness and image of Jesus Christ and we rule by living and walking in his Name (the nature of God, Jesus Christ). When we are weak, innocent, humble, meek, lowly, contrite, etc., we rule as Jesus did from the cross. This is the narrow way that leads to life, eternal life.
He created us in His image, male and female, even though He said “make man”. But in His image, the new creation, there is neither male or female, so it speaks of something more. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.
But to shadow His image, he pictures the male side, and the female side. The female side is pictured as the “weaker vessel”, to teach us the Image of Christ, how it is born in weakness, a stumbling block to the Jew, foolishness to the Gentile. In the spiritual, weakness is the power of God, so the female is truly the more powerful of the two.
The female side is the picture of the spiritual, the image and likeness of God as a life-giving Spirit, which is the new creation is formed in us, in weakness. In the Spirit, God said, be fruitful and multiply, bear the fruit of the “seed” put within you, and multiply the likeness of Christ in the earth. This was the gospel of Jesus Christ, spoken of at the first of Genesis.
In the spiritual earth and the spiritual garden, there were no animals, no fish in the sea, no birds of the air, no beasts of the field, no creepy things, etc. Only those “without the likeness” and those, “with the likeness”. In the Spirit, the earth is the old nature, and God said to rule it, and subdue it, by bearing fruit of the Spirit, and multiplying. So, we rule over all the other creatures, by weakness, by the nature of Jesus Christ, and that is the dominion. It is a stumbling block to the Jew (those that believe they belong to God, and foolishness the Gentile (the unsaved).
They could eat of every plant and every tree, that bore the “seed”, the life. It was food for them, the manna given by God. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that precedes out of the mouth of God. This is the gospel being preached by our lips, through His life, the fruit of righteousness, that is multiplying in us. Life multiplies and grows in us, because, when we give life, it comes back, pressed down, shaken together and running over. Abundant life and eternal life is in us, and in the fruit, we bear daily to others..
We know that what happened with Adam and Eve was a picture of Christ and the Church. God said, it’s not good for man to be alone. In the Spirit, He was saying, the man must have a helper to manifest the fruit of righteousness to, so he can multiply it and fill the earth. A man shall leave his father and mother….. and become one…. This mystery is great… I’m speaking of Christ and the church. Eph 5:31
The “man” is not talking about Adam, to those in the Spirit, with spiritual eyes and spiritual ears. Yes, it happened, but for our instruction, to teach us in the Spirit. The “woman” is not talking about Eve, in the spiritual. She was a type and shadow, to instruct us by the Spirit. As always, first comes the natural, then the spiritual. Adam and Eve were the first “man” (mankind) with “the spirit”, the “seed of life”. He put them in the spiritual garden to bear the Lord’s fruit, especially to one another, to cover one another, to perfect one another, until the likeness came into the “perfect man”. And so, it is today, with us.
The Lord took something vital, the rib, out of “the man”. God put it there for His special purpose, for “the man”. He shaped something precious, something special, something personal, something gentle, something innocent, something only God could envision from His heart, a precious innocent woman. The man could “see her”, “touch her”, “behold her”, and give himself up for her, “the life”. He could lover her as himself, God’s way to eternal life. She was the “image” of meekness, gentleness, and kindness, to always “remind the man”…. He shaped this special piece of the “man” into the “woman”, exactly what the “man” needed to become perfect, through love.
The “woman” represented the “life giver”, the “life giving spirit”, the image of God, as a mirror, for the man to observe beside him, all his days. The “woman” was by nature, the vision God had in the Spirit, of the likeness and the image.
This “helper” he made, was to become an example for the “man” of what God wanted to be formed in the “man”, to become a life-giving spirit, the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. And so it is today, what God wants to do in the second “man”, the “body” of Jesus Christ. Firsts came the natural at the fullness of time, Jesus Christ, then the spiritual, “Us”. We are Jesus Christ now in this world, if Christ lives in us. We no longer know him, after the flesh. We know him after the Spirit, in us.
So the woman is the precious side of man, exactly what the man needs to become whole, the new creation. That is, unless man tampers with the picture, changing her into something like the man, hardened and full of the old nature. The woman by nature pictures the image, the man hast to develop, to become a life-giving spirit. The woman is by nature a life-giving spirit in the natural.
When a man and woman are married, is it a picture to remind us of God’s plan for mankind. God is saying…., Bone of my bone, flesh of My flesh. Now I have made the complete “man”, male and female, the flesh and the Spirt, made into Our Image, into the perfect “man”, one in Christ. That is the picture drawn for us by the Spirit for all who have ears to hear.
The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. Gen 2:20-25
“The Man” (In The Spirit)
When it comes to the man in scripture, we easily discern that it isn’t talking to only men. But, when the woman, or women, are mentioned, immediately we believe it is only talking to the female.
Adam was the parable, the picture and the type, of “the man”. God calls him the “first man”, Adam. Whether he was the first physical man on the earth, I haven’t been given that revelation, because it is not my part to know. For me, it would be wrangling over words, to argue with others over whether Adam was or wasn’t.
Paul told Timothy to Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. Studying the natural things of the Bible adds to our head knowledge, allowing us to boast in our flesh, to become someone honored. But, natural things are of no value against fleshly indulgence, which must be overcome, and is needed to possess your vessel and give you a clear conscious. Only the spiritual will help us become the image of the one who bought us.
In the Spirit, we know Adam was the first to have “the Spirit” within him, the “life of God”. God called him a “living soul”, having the seed of the Spirit with all that is needed for life and godliness. We know Jesus was the “second man”, a “life-giving Spirit”. A life-giving Spirit is one that gives “life” (the gospel of Jesus), and it comes back, pressed down, shaken together, running over, until it becomes the fullness of God (eternal life).
In the Spirit, the term “man” used in most cases in Scripture, has nothing to do with gender, only a picture and a type of mankind. God treats the wise and intelligent as little children, speaking in front of them in “hidden words” (parables and proverbs) they cannot understand, and never will, unless their heart changes, by repenting and turning to Him.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2Tim 3:17
Put On, or Adorn Yourself Properly (in Christ)
The adornment for women, spoken of by Paul, was spoken in the Spirit, having nothing to do with natural things, except when it fails to exemplify the true adornment, of the Spirit. Women, exactly like men, are to put on, or adorn themselves with the image and likeness of Christ, subjecting ourselves to one another, in love. Because of the woman’s role in nature, she is spoken of in the Spirit, in how to properly adorn herself.
The woman is the one with the natural beauty, of the species of mankind, and that is how God intended it. If you men can’t see that, I’m sorry, I can’t help you. So, the woman naturally wants to be beautiful, since the beginning of time. That is the way God made you ladies. But Paul warned the ladies to not only be beautiful on the outside, but adorn yourselves and be beautiful in the heart, revealing the image of Christ.
So, this is the woman’s fleshly area she must overcome. To focus only on the natural appearance ladies, is idolatry and makes God jealous. “I will punish her for the days of the Baals, When she used to offer sacrifices to them And adorn herself with her earrings and jewelry, And follow her lovers, so that she forgot Me,” declares the LORD. Hos 2:13
Us men have plenty of our own idols in our hearts, to overcome. Now, if the adornment is only external and not the adornment of the heart, then it is improper for a woman, or man, with a claim to godliness. Go ahead and be beautiful ladies, inside and outside, like God intended.
Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect. Titus 2:10
“Adorn yourself with eminence and dignity, And clothe yourself with honor and majesty. Job 40:10
For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands; 6just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened (subjecting yourself to another) by any fear. 1Pet 3:5,6
In that day the Branch of the LORD (Jesus Christ) will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel. 3It will come about that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy—everyone who is recorded for life (the book of life) in Jerusalem. Is 4:2,3
“For this reason, I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on ( wedding garments, the garments of salvation). Is not life (eternal life) more than food, and the body more than clothing? Matt 6:25
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (where the serious trials come to keep you from the prize, his image). 13Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day (the day of the Lord), and having done everything, to stand firm. 14Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows (the fiery trials of testing) of the evil one. 17And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION (mind on things above), and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:11-17
For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55“O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” 56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; 57but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Cor 15:53-57
For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,3inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. 4For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. 5Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. 2Cor 5:1-5
that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness (through obeying the righteous acts of the gospel) and holiness of the truth. Eph 4:22-24
And He said to His disciples, “For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on.23“For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Luke 12:22
“I will punish her for the days of the Baals, When she used to offer sacrifices to them And adorn herself with her earrings and jewelry, And follow her lovers, so that she forgot Me,” declares the LORD. Hos 2:13
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 1Thes 5:8,9
Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.8But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. 9Do not lie to one another (and manifest the old nature), since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,
10and have put on the new self (the image and likeness) who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— 11a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all (in an earthly body).
12So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Col 3:5-14
Remain In The Condition In Which Your Called
Each man must remain in that condition in which he was called. 1Cor 7:20
24Brethren, each one is to remain with God in that condition in which he was called. 1Cor 7:24
God’s View Of Divorce
Due to continual questions I am asked concerning divorce, I decided to share what was revealed to me. I am not the authority on these things, but God is. I’ve always waited until God revealed it in the scriptures, what He truly says on the matter. What I share here, I was given from God, of that I am sure. Until He showed it to me, I had no idea how to answer people.
First and foremost, God says we are not to be joined together with unbelievers, and this certainly includes marriage. An unbeliever is someone that doesn’t believe the true Laws of God, and the gospel of Christ, not someone that doesn’t attend church. Assuming because someone goes to church, they are godly, can only get us in trouble.
For the new creation, those desiring to be born again into His image, marriage, is two individuals becoming one, in the spirit, which requires dying daily to accomplish this heavenly place. This was from the beginning, shadowed by Adam and Eve. This means subjecting yourselves to each other, both male and female, and regarding your spouse, as more important than yourself. This is the gospel of Christ.
God’s plan is for the man to subject himself to the wife in love, Christ’s love, even if she becomes unlovely at times. The woman is subjecting herself to the man, in honor and respect, Christ’s love, even if he becomes unlovely, at times. Not only to those good and gentle, but also to those unreasonable. 1Pet 2:18 For this finds favor with God, his plan for forming eternal life in us. This act of the gospel between husband and wife, sprinkles Christ’s blood on the other, sanctifying them, and changes us into the likeness of Christ. This is God’s first plan, before anything else, for bringing forth His new creation, in Christ. This is being fruitful and multiplying in the Spirit.
Now if the unbelieving wife or husband, one unwilling to obey the gospel, leaves, let them leave. But to send them away, or drive them away, is adultery, because we chose a different spirit, which makes God jealous. He only desires His Spirit manifesting in us.
Remember…. The unbelieving spouse, the disobedient one, is sanctified by the believing spouse, as long as you are one. (1Cor 7:14) Are you as a believer, willing to give yourself up for the unbelieving spouse (washing them in the water of the Word), and cover them with the sprinkled blood (the blood of Christ), if they choose not to leave? To the carnal church, this looks like foolishness, like Paul told us.
All matters are judged by the true Law, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. If they choose to leave, this is being unfaithful in God’s eyes, and you are free from this Law. This is the only divorce acceptable for the true believer. God always says, “Beware, lest there be in any of you a base thought…. If I can make him/her leave, I can be free… God judges the heart, and intents of the heart. The word divorce to God means, send him/her away. This is God’s word, clearly given now by the Spirit. Beyond this, I have no knowledge on the matter. All I can say is, you asked….
Remember, the path to being born again in Christ’s image, is to subject yourself to another, wherever you are called. Servants, slaves, masters, employers, employees, husbands, wives, or children, are instructed to remain where you are called. Sending them away or leaving them, will not bring about the change we must have because, we must all be changed.
Now, as to adressing the path for the divorced, I have nothing yet, revealed in the Spirit from God. Just this one scripture that I believe is leading me to a conclusion. A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead (no longer a believer and chooses to leave), she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. One day God will completely reveal it clearly, of that I am sure. He always does if we are patient. It’s amazing how when God gives revelation on a matter, it is so clear to a spiritual man, but the natural man will never see it. Remember the Law kills, but the Spirit gives life. Let’s not judge others, except by the Law of liberty.
But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife should not leave her husband 11(but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband should not send his wife away. 12But to the rest I say, not the Lord, that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, let him not send her away.
13And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to live with her, she must not send her husband away. 14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife (by becoming a living sacrifice for her), and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy. 15Yet if the unbelieving one leaves, let him leave; the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us to peace. 1Cor 7:10-15
“It was said, ‘WHOEVER SENDS HIS WIFE AWAY, LET HIM GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE’;32but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman (someone who sends others away) commits adultery. Matt 5:31,32
Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, “Is it lawful for a manto divorce his wife for any reason at all?” 4And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, 5and said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’? 6“So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man (the new man) separate.” 7They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?” 8He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. 9“And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (sends her away), except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” Matt 19:3-9
