The Image Of God And The Image Of The Beast
The Image Of God
Bearing Good Fruit–The Fruit Of Righteousness
When addressing the image and the likeness of God, let me first say, I’m not saying the term “image” and the term “likeness” are the same. With the mysteries of God, revelation is ongoing and it could change with one verse. I only use them as if they are for now.
Jesus Christ was the exact image of the invisible God and to be in his image is to be abiding in Him, and He in us. This is the new creation, the land that was promised to Abraham.
8“Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; “The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Matt 3:8,10
15“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.16“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?17“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.18“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.20“So then, you will know them by their fruits. Matt 7:15-20
33“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. Matt 12:33
43“For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.44“For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.45“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart. Luke 6:43-45
“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge between Me and My vineyard. 4“What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it?Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?5“So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed;
I will break down its wall (lower the hedge) and it will become trampled ground. 6“I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it.” 7For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel And the men of Judah His delightful plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress. Is 5;2-7
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified (in us). Is 61:3
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. Rom 8: 28-30
The Image Of The Beast
The teaching of the Image of the Beast is one of the most amazing things in Christianity today. Like all things in scripture, first comes the natural, then the spiritual. Can there be a literal beast, maybe so, I don’t know. But I only deal with the spiritual and will share in the Spirit.
The image of Christ is the fruit of the tree of life, the fruit of the Spirit, so the image of the Beast is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the fruit of the flesh or old nature. The mind of Christ is the mark on the forehead of the people of God, so the mark on the forehead of the followers of the Beast, those walking after the flesh. The Beast comes up out of the earth, the old nature,
Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. 12He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed (wounded at the cross). 13He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven (in trials and temptations) to the earth in the presence of men. 14And he deceives those who dwell on the earth (in the old nature, the flesh) because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword (the Word of God, Jesus Christ) and has come to life. 15And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed (fall away). 16And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.18Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man (the old man); and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. Rev 13:11-18
“Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their transgression And to the house of Jacob their sins. 2“Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.
3‘Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire (coveting), And drive hard all your workers (not showing mercy and kindness). 4“Behold, you fast for contention and strife and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high. Is 1-4
Being Truly Born Again by the Witness of The Spirit
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1Pet 1:3
Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 1Pet 1:22,23
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water (the baptism of death, the crucified life) and the Spirit (obedience to the will of God by the Holy Spirit) he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Jn 3:5,6
Seeing The Kingdom Of God
When we repent and turn away from our sins, and bring forth fruit in keeping with our repentance, we can see the Kingdom of God. We cannot enter the Kingdom until we can see it first, the way into the Kingdom. Then the Spirit comes and leads us into the Kingdom according to the need of our heart and according to the will of the Father.
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jn 3:3
Entering The Kingdom Of God
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Jn 3:5-8
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. Jn 1:12,13
For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. 16And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. Gal 6:15,16
In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. James 1:18
Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. 29If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him. 1Jn 2:28,29
Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot (practice) sin, because he is born of God.10By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 1Jn 3:7-10
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him (the image in us). 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. 4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1Jn 5:1-4
We know that no one who is born of God sins (continually or intentionally); but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. 19We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 20And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1Jn 5:18-20
The Spirit Bears Witness (in us)
The Image Of The Beast–Bearing False Witness
The Witness Of The Beast
The Baptism Of Fire—The Narrow Way Into The Kingdom
God’s mysteries speaks of different ways to purge man. There is fire, floods, and wind, to name a few. There is more than one type of fire spoken of by the Spirit. Because of the nature of fire, it purifies and refines, burning away all the dross. So fire is to refine, and also, to remove or destroy what God doesn’t want to remain. The fire of God is our friend, the Spirit of God working in us. It is the opposite for the wicked. It consumes him and he is burned up. The Day of The Lord is for both men, the righteous and the wicked, accomplishing the work of the Spirit. It is a continual burning spoken of in Isaiah 33 that God’s people pass through.
- Fire of sacrificesis to give God his fragrant aroma, He jealously desires.
- Fire of testingto refine us into his image and likeness.
- Fire of judgmentto see if our works remain and it destroys the wicked.
What does it look like if someone’s work is burned up? The floods come to test how we build our house. The fire, flood, or wind, come to test our work, to see if it remains. There are at least these three kinds of fire. To have understanding of the scripture you must know which type is being presented.
“I have come to cast fire upon the earth (that is the book of 2Peter and Revelation, the judgment of God that transforms us); and how I wish it were already kindled! 50“But I have a baptism to undergo (show you the example first, the first fruits of many more to come), and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! 51“Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division (caused by living the gospel); Luke 12:49,50
“As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matt 3:11
to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,5who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, 7so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ (in you); 8and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls. 1Pet 1:6-9
Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 14If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1Cor 3:12-15
‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,18I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Rev 3:17,18
Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless. “Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with continual burning?” 15He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity, He who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil;
“Yet there will be a tenth portion in it, And it will again be subject to burning, Like a terebinth or an oak Whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump.” Is 6:13
He who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil; Is 33:14,15
and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offeri ng and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:2
you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1Pet2:5
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies (your offering and sacrifice) a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Rom 12:1,2
Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Heb 13:15,16
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; you judge what I say. Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread. Look at the nation Israel; are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar? What do I mean then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than He, are we?
23All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. 1Cor 10:14-24
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma (soothing aroma of the sacrifice) of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance (soothing aroma of the sacrifice) of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma (an aroma from strange fire) from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. 2 Cor 2: 14-16 (The fire we are in does something, good or bad, for both…)
AND TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL THE HEART AND WITH ALL THE AND WITH ALL THE STRENGTH, AND TO LOVE ONE’S NEIGHBOR AS HIMSELF, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Mark 12:33
Ascending Through The Heavens
The process of birth into the new creation in Christ, is an upward movement into the fullness of Christ, progressing more and more into His image and likeness. From the earth, the old nature, to the heavens, to the highest heavens. We must pass through the heavens as Christ did. He did it in the Father, we do it in Christ. Christ was the example, preparing the way for us. He descended into the lower parts of the earth, humbling Himself and taking on the form of flesh, then ascending into the heavens, all the way to the highest heavens.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Heb 4: 14-16
Therefore it says, “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN.” 9(Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things. (the fullness of God) Eph 4:8-10
“Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?11“Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony. 12“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13“No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. 14“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. Jn 3:10-15
Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His son’s name? Surely you know! Prov 30:4
Two Great Lights—One To Govern The Day, The Other The Night
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; 15and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day (the light of Christ), and the lesser light to govern the night (the light of Satan); He made the stars (the called of God) also. 17God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light (the glory of Christ) from the darkness (the glory of Satan); and God saw that it was good (the separation was good). Gen 1:14-18
And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be (stars, the descendants of Abraham).” 6Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. Gen 15:5,6
indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed (Christ and His body) shall possess the gate of their enemies. Gen 22:17
Now he had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, “Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” Gen 37:9
‘The LORD your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day like the stars of heaven in number. Deut 1:10
The Stars Of God
“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. 3“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. Dan 12:2,3
The sun to rule by day, For His lovingkindness is everlasting, 9The moon and stars to rule by night, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Ps
He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Ps 147:4
Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all stars of light! Ps 148:3
10For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light. Is 14:10
“But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. Is 14:13
Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing. Is 40:26
Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is His name: Jer 31:35
Out of one of them came forth a rather small horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Beautiful Land. 10It grew up to the host of heaven and caused some of the host and some of the stars to fall to the earth, and it trampled them down. Dan 8:9,10
Before them the earth quakes, The heavens tremble, The sun and the moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness. Joel 2:10
“The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, You who live in the clefts of the rock, In the loftiness of your dwelling place, Who say in your heart, ‘Who will bring me down to earth?’ 4“Though you build high like the eagle, Though you set your nest among the stars, From there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD.
“But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30“And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. 31“And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. Matt 24:29-31
“But in those days, after that tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, 25AND THE STARS WILL BE FALLING from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26“Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory. 27“And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven. Mk 13:24-27
These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; 13wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. Jude 1:12,13
and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. Rev 6:13
The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way. Rev 8:12
And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
The Two Waters
Praise Him, highest heavens, And the waters that are above the heavens! Ps 148:4
