Chapter Five

God’s Secret–The Life Must Be Given Away To Receive It

Our Ministry, The Gospel

The Law Of The Spirit Of Life

1Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

5For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law (the gospel) of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells (manifests) in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ (manifesting in him), he does not belong to Him. (The children of God and the children of the devil are obvious) 10If Christ is in you (manifesting his life), though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies (resurrection of the dead) through His Spirit who dwells in you.

12So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— 13for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live (in his image and likeness). 14For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Rom 8:1-14

27“But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.29“Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.30“Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.31“Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.32“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.33“If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.34“If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.35“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.36“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

37Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.38Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6:27-38

I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.37“For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matt 12:36

If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth. 1Pet 1:17

The River Of Life

A river represents the life of the Spirit, flowing from God, through his people, eventually ending up in the sea, the multitudes of humanity. Even humanity has a right to the crumbs from God’s table, one reason we should love our neighbor, even our enemies. A river must keep flowing, to be fresh. If it becomes stagnant, the life goes out of it, turning to salt, like the dead sea. This is why we must always give away our life, so the eternal life grows in us, some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred fold.

Then he brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, water was flowing from under the threshold of the house toward the east, for the house faced east. And the water was flowing down from under, from the right side of the house, from south of the altar. 2He brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate by way of the gate that faces east. And behold, water was trickling from the south side.

3When the man went out toward the east with a line in his hand, he measured a thousand cubits, and he led me through the water, water reaching the ankles. 4Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the knees. Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the loins.5Again he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not ford, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be forded.

6He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me back to the bank of the river.7Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river there were very many trees on the one side and on the other. 8Then he said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the Arabah; then they go toward the sea, being made to flow into the sea, and the waters of the sea become fresh9“It will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the river goes, will live. And there will be very many fish, for these waters go there and the others become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes.

10“And it will come about that fishermen will stand beside it; from Engedi to Eneglaim there will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea, very many. 11“But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt12“By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”

The Origin Of Eternal Life

Eternal life (being a life-giving spirit) was in the heart of the Father and when he begat the Son, the Son was the exact image and nature of His Father, eternal life. The Father gave him the name, the name from the beginning, the eternal life. The very nature of life, is it must be given away, in order to maintain it, because it comes back, pressed down, shaken together, running over, poured into your lap. Life is a river and a river must keep flowing or it no longer stays living. It becomes stagnant and eventually goes to salt. If you in hope, and in faith, give life to your neighbor, you will become a “son” of the Most High, allowing his life to be manifested. This is the promise from the Father, manifested in the Son. 25This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life (in us). 1Jn 2:24

1What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life2and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—  1Jn 1:1,2

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him (His life), and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness (manifested), and the darkness did not comprehend it. Jn 1:1-5 (And they still don’t today)

13I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father. 14I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 1Jn 2:14

‘I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death (the old nature is dead), and I will give you the crown of life. Rev 2:9,10

Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. 33“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Jn 6:33

God’s Greatest Secret–Give And It Will Be Given

And By Your Standard Of Measure

This secret has been hidden in God for thousands of years and God is now revealing it to His people, although most will never see it, not having eyes to see. All things from God, the blessings of the covenant, are first given as unto the Lord, then available to be received. This has been taught before as the law of sowing and reaping, and is the way God blesses us. This is why it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6:38

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Matt 5:7

“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you15“But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. Matt 6:14,15

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. 2Sam 22:26 KJV

With the kind You show Yourself kind; With the blameless You show Yourself blameless; Ps 18:25 NAS With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright; Ps 18:25 KJV

He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Ps 37:26

How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble. 2The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth; And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies. 3The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health. 4As for me, I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.” Ps 41:1-4

He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor. Ps 112:9

The merciful man does himself good (receives mercy, But the cruel man does himself harm (is judged and without mercy). Prov 11:17

One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed. Prov 19:17

You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way (be merciful), as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. 1Pet 3:7

“Then summoning him, his lord said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’ 34“And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him35“My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.” Matt 18:33-35

“Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke? 7“Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

8“Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. 9“Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,

10And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday. 11“And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. 12“Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell. Is 58:6-12

Judge, And You’ll Be Judged—The Coming Judgment

And By Your Standard Of Measure

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; Let the sea roar, and all it contains; 12Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy 13Before the LORD, for He is coming, For He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness And the peoples in His faithfulness. Ps 96:11-13

By me kings reign, And rulers decree justice. 16“By me princes rule, and nobles, All who judge rightly. Prov 8:15,16

“And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” Rev 11:18

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. 14For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. Ecc 12:13,14

A Life-giving Spirit (The Body, Jesus the Head)

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.45So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1Cor 15:42-45

Three Things Required, Faith, Hope, Love

  • Faith is the promise of a son birthed, us believing and trusting what God said He would do, in us.
  • Hope is us patiently waiting while the Spirit performs the promise in us, while go through the trial of testing, to bring forth the promise.
  • Love is how he does it, His love coming forth by His Spirit, doing works of righteousness, righteous acts, through us, to change us.
  • The greatest of these three is Love, because when it is given, it comes back thirty, sixty, and a hundred fold.

Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news (the gospel) preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. Heb 4:1,2

We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; 3constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father, 1Thes 1:2,3

In Hope We Are Saved

For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. Rom 8:24,25

Every Word Of God Is Tested

Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Prov 30:5

The words of the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times. Ps 12:6

The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. Ps 19:8

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. 14But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth15This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. 16For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing17But the wisdom from above is first pure (been tested and found pure), then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. 18And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (how beautiful are the feet of those). James 3:13-18

Love Is The Narrow Way To Eternal Life

Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven33“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Jn 6:33

Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; 10for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more. 1Thes 4:9,10

By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 11For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another12not as Cain, who was of the evil one (yet Cain was sacrificing before God) and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.

13Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. 14We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. 15Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.16We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. 19We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him 20in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. 21Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.

23This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. 1Jn3:10-23

Alms, Righteous Deeds, and Works Of Righteousness

Alms are gifts of mercy, given as unto the Lord, by the Spirit. These are works of righteousness, the righteous acts of Jesus Christ, spoken of as Wedding Clothes. From the earliest days in scripture, God’s people are instructed on the giving of alms. Why, because mercy triumphs over judgment. Alms, or a physical representation of love, must be given so the image of Christ can be formed in us, and us manifesting Jesus Christ to the world.

When you give your alms (your acts of mercy), don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Why, because we lose our reward and our heavenly treasure is not laid up for us. God’s accounting is very good, because he is a good accountant. It is called the Book of Life where our righteous acts are recorded, being foretold before the foundation f the world. We will give full account to God for every “deed”, good or bad. That, my dear brothers and sisters, is happening now! Not out there in the sweet bye and bye.

The people of Israel were told when they harvest their fields, not to glean them a second time, but leave that for the alien or stranger. Also they were told not to reap the corners of their field, or their vineyard, leaving that as alms for those in need. When they beat their olive tree, not to do it a second time, leaving some fruit for the needy.

But the children of Israel were always told not to have base thought…. I’ll glean my fields and leave nothing. I’ll not plant the corners of my fields, leaving nothing. I’ll make sure nothing is left on my olive tree. It is always that way, some trying to get around the word of God, and so it is today. Remember, God judges the heart, and intent of the heart.

Definition Of Alms

‘ALMS noun, ‘amz. [Eng. almesse; Latin eleemosyna; Gr. to pity.] Anything given gratuitously to relieve the poor, as money, food, or clothing, otherwise called charity. A gift of mercy.

Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. ‘Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am the LORD your God ‘You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly. Lev 19:9,10,15

‘When you reap the harvest of your land, moreover, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field nor gather the gleaning of your harvest; you are to leave them for the needy and the alien. I am the LORD your God.’” Lev 23:22

“When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. “When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow. “When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow. Deut 24:19-21

How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble. The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth; And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies. The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health. Ps 41:1-3

He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor. Ps 112:9

There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered. Prov 11:24,25

One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed. Prov 19:17

13For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment. (Judge and you will be judged) 14What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works (righteous acts)? Can that faith save him? 15If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17Even so faith, if it has no works , is dead, being by itself.

18But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; 23and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” and he was called the friend of God. James 2:12-22

1Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. 3But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? 5But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HISDEEDS: Rom 2;1-6

10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences. 2Cor 5:10,11

“And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” Rev 11:18

“At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in that year, and shall deposit it in your town. “The Levite (the priest unto the Lord), because he has no portion or inheritance among you, and the alien, the orphan and the widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. Deut 14:28,29

And He also went on to say to the one who had invited Him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment. 13“But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” Luke 14;12-14

But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him 1Jn 3:17-19

“At the end of every seven years you shall grant a remission of debts. 2“This is the manner of remission: every creditor shall release what he has loaned to his neighbor; he shall not exact it of his neighbor and his brother, because the LORD’S remission has been proclaimed. 3“From a foreigner you may exact it, but your hand shall release whatever of yours is with your brother. 4“However, there will be no poor among you, since the LORD will surely bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess, 5if only you listen obediently to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all this commandment which I am commanding you today. 6“For the LORD your God will bless you as He has promised you, and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you.

7“If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother; 8but you shall freely open your hand to him, and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks. 9“Beware that there is no base thought in your heart, saying, ‘The seventh year, the year of remission, is near,’ and your eye is hostile toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry to the LORD against you, and it will be a sin in you. 10“You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings. 11“For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.’ Deut 15:1-11

“Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke? “Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh? “Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

“Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday. Is 58:6-10

“If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, Or have eaten my morsel alone, And the orphan has not shared it But from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And from infancy I guided her), If I have seen anyone perish for lack of clothing, Or that the needy had no covering, If his loins have not thanked me, And if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep, If I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, Because I saw I had support in the gate, Let my shoulder fall from the socket, And my arm be broken off at the elbow. Job 31:16-22

Righteous Judgment vs. Unrighteous Judgment

Keeping A Good And Clear Conscience

The word conscience is very complicated to define. But I have included it, and some related scriptures, because something deep in the Spirt is hidden in it. A good conscience is put in us according to the covenant promised. “THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD : I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM.) This conscience is his true law God puts in us, and must be formed into His image, in us, and then held and kept against all assaults of our enemies to take it away. Our conscience must be blameless, bearing witness and testifying of the right Spirit within us, for it to be a good conscience. Obedience to the commandment and law of God, to love our neighbor as ourselves, is what shapes and keeps a good conscience. Our good conscience is confirmed through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which takes place in us.

“In view of this, I also do my best to maintain always a blameless conscience both before God and before men. Acts 24:16

let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb 10:22

For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. Rom 2:14-16

For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you. 2Cor 1:12

I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. Rom 9:1,2

However not all men have this knowledge; but some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. And so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. 1Cor 8:7,12

Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. Rom 13:5

For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. 1Pet 2:19,20

Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, 15but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense (become a living sacrifice) to everyone who asks you (to suffer for Christ’s sake) to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. 17For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 18For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; 19in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, 20who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. 21Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ (in us), 22who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him. 1 Peter 3:13-22

but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 1Tim 3;9

but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. Tit 1:15

The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation (His coming in us). Heb 9:8-10

how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heb 9:14

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight, keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. 1Tim 5,18,19

You Are God’s Light To The World

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;15nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matt 5:14-26

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day. Prov 4:18

The True Preaching Of The Gospel

As we have learned, the true gospel has been hidden from this generation because we have not obeyed the commands of Jesus, though serving Him as Lord. Also, the preaching of the true gospel is hidden and is not being preached as intended. The commands of Jesus, when obeyed, is the preaching of the gospel, the bringing forth fruit in keeping with our repentance. So when we bless those that curse us, pray for those that mistreat us, we are sounding forth the gospel, to the earth, those in the old nature, the flesh. Paul called it, publicly portraying Christ as crucified. All the nations will mourn when they realize they have had the gospel preached to them, by those walking in the love of Christ. May God give His church ears to hear, and eyes to see, what the gospel is, and how the gospel is preached.

One more point I would like to make about the preaching of the gospel. Your preaching it, your walking in the gospel you preach, is allowing you to become a partaker in the gospel you are preaching. It is your salvation because you are being transformed into His likeness and image, through your walk of the gospel.

For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything9For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, 10and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. 1Thes 1:8-10

You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? Gal 3:1

How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news (the gospel of Jesus Christ), Who announces peace (in their walk of righteousness) And brings good news (that we’re no longer slaves of sin) of happiness, Who announces salvation (taking place in them), And says to Zion, “Your God reigns (in our earthly bodies)!” Is 52:7

“For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory. 19“I will set a sign among them and will send survivors from them to the nations (to sound forth the gospel): Tarshish, Put, Lud, Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have neither heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare My glory (by walking in the gospel) among the nations. 20“Then they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as a grain offering to the LORD, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD. 21“I will also take some of them for priests (a royal priesthood) and for Levites (to serve the natural house),” says the LORD. Is 66:18-21

How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?15How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!”

16However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?” 17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ (living in you). 18But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have; “THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, AND THEIR WORDS TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD.”19But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says, “I WILL MAKE YOU JEALOUS BY THAT WHICH IS NOT A NATION, BY A NATION WITHOUT  UNDERSTANDING WILL I ANGER YOU.”

20And Isaiah is very bold and says, “I WAS FOUND BY THOSE WHO DID NOT SEEK ME, I BECAME MANIFEST TO THOSE WHO DID NOT ASK FOR ME.” 21But as for Israel He says, “ALL THE DAY LONG I HAVE STRETCHED OUT MY HANDS TO A DISOBEDIENT AND OBSTINATE PEOPLE.” Rom 10:14-21

You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men3being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

4Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. 5Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,6who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2Cor 3:3-6

Living Sacrifices

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Rom 12:1

Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Heb 13:15,16

“They will call peoples to the mountain; There they will offer righteous sacrifices;
For they will draw out the abundance of the seas, And the hidden treasures of the sand.” Deut 33:19

Our Altar of Earth

‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven23‘You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves24‘You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.25‘If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you will profane it26‘And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it.’

“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. 18“No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.” Jn 10:17,18

The Peace Offering

I’m taking much time and space to show how the Peace Offering is an important part of God’s worship in the Law, knowing it represented the walk of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and our walk of the life of Christ, in us. Though I can’t explain it in detail yet, I must point to it, in the Spirit, as prompted by God. There were three kinds of Peace Offerings, but all were “thank offerings” in reality. It could be referred to as a distinctly sacrificial meal, together with God.

Peace Offerings—Three Kinds

  1. The Thank Offering

The thank offering is an act of thankfulness for the blessings of what God has done for you.

  1. The Votive Offering

The votive offering is a response of gratefulness for what was given as a result of a request or petition. It has an expectation of what will be received in return.

  1. The Free Will Offering

The free-will Offering has the personality of being done voluntarily as a result of the love and affection toward the Lord.

  • The sacrifice was referred to as the “bread of God” and “bread of the fire-offering unto God”
  • Usually done in private, not a public feast.
  • The offering was of an animal, offered with a meal offering or a grain offering.
  • The offering could be male or female, perfect and without defect, slain by the offeror in front of the doorway, before the Lord
  • An offering of smoke, by fire unto the Lord, as food, a soothing aroma, on the same fire the burnt offering was offered earlier that day.
  • The offering of fire consists of the fat and the blood, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the fat tail, the entrails, 4and the two kidneys, the lobe of the liver, with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys.
  • Blood from the offering is to be sprinkled around the altar of fire, by the Priests.
  • The flesh of the offering was shared (eaten) by the priests, the giver, and his children.
  • The breast and right shoulder were given to the priest, and this was the wave offering, waved backward and forward in line with the altar. This symbolized the giving and receiving. They were then waved toward the four sides of the world and vertically, representing between God and the offeror.
  • The remainder was given to the worshipper and guests to partake of.
  • The flesh of the peace offering, must be only eaten the day it was offered.

By Way Of Thanksgiving

‘Now this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which shall be presented to the LORD12‘If he offers it by way of thanksgiving, then along with the sacrifice of thanksgiving he shall offer unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes of well stirred fine flour mixed with oil13‘With the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving, he shall present his offering with cakes of leavened bread14‘Of this he shall present one of every offering as a contribution to the LORD; it shall belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings. 15Now as for the flesh of the sacrifice of his thanksgiving peace offerings, it shall be eaten on the day of his offering; he shall not leave any of it over until morning. Lev 7:11-15

  • Thanksgiving Meal Offering or Grain Offering: Represented an Offering through service, or being a servant, to others. It represents a believer in perfect obedience (walking according to his commandment) giving God a sacrifice, a fragrant aroma, that He accepts as pleasing to Him.
  • The Thanksgiving Meal Offering or Grain Offering: It had to be mixed with oil, the Spirit, or baked with intense heat, the fire of testing, and overlaid with oil of the Spirit, to be excepted.

Blessed are the peacemakers: (People offering peace offerings) for they shall be called the children of God. Matt 5:9

Pursue peace (peace offerings) with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. Heb 12:14

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, (peace offerings) gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace (peace offerings) by those who make peace. James 3:17,18

And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, 10 And the two kidneys, (the kidneys were burned with the fat) and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away. 11 And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the LORD. Lev 3:9-11

And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD’S. It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood. Lev 3:17

Lev7:11 And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer unto the LORD. 12 If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried. 13 Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings. 14 And of it he shall offer one out of the whole oblation for an heave offering unto the LORD, and it shall be the priest’s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings.

15 And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered; he shall not leave any of it until the morning. 16 But if the sacrifice of his offering be a vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offereth his sacrifice: and on the morrow also the remainder of it shall be eaten: (it had to be eaten within one day if it was a thank offering or within two days if it was a vow or voluntary offering) 17 But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire. 18 And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.

22 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 23 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat. 25 For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people. 26 Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. 27 Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people., 29 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, He that offereth the sacrifice of his peace offerings unto the LORD shall bring his oblation unto the LORD of the sacrifice of his peace offerings. 30 His own hands shall bring the offerings (he killed it himself, not the priest) of the LORD made by fire, the fat with the breast, it shall he bring, that the breast may be waved for a wave offering before the LORD. 31 And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aaron’s and his sons’. 32 And the right shoulder shall ye give unto the priest for an heave offering of the sacrifices of your peace offerings.

33 He among the sons of Aaron, that offereth the blood of the peace offerings, and the fat, shall have the right shoulder for his part. 34 For the wave breast and the heave shoulder have I taken of the children of Israel from off the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them unto Aaron the priest and unto his sons by a statute for ever from among the children of Israel. 35 This is the portion of the anointing of Aaron, and of the anointing of his sons, out of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister unto the LORD in the priest’s office;

‘Now this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which shall be presented to the LORD. 12‘If he offers it by way of thanksgiving, then along with the sacrifice of thanksgiving he shall offer unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes of well stirred fine flour mixed with oil. 13‘With the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving, he shall present his offering with cakes of leavened bread. 14‘Of this he shall present one of every offering as a contribution to the LORD; it shall belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings.

15‘Now as for the flesh of the sacrifice of his thanksgiving peace offerings, it shall be eaten on the day of his offering; he shall not leave any of it over until morning.16‘But if the sacrifice of his offering is a votive or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice, and on the next day what is left of it may be eaten; 17but what is left over from the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burned with fire18‘So if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings should ever be eaten on the third day, he who offers it will not be accepted, and it will not be reckoned to his benefit. It shall be an offensive thing, and the person who eats of it will bear his own iniquity.

“Shall I eat the flesh of bulls Or drink the blood of male goats? 14“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High; Ps 50:13,14

The True Cross Of Jesus Christ

So we have two teachings we must discuss here with reference to the cross of Jesus Christ. The first is the literal cross, the dying of Jesus Christ for our sins. That must be first and foremost in our teaching. The second is the cross Jesus spoke of over and over. Obviously, when Jesus says, take up your cross and follow Me, He wasn’t talking about a literal cross. Remember, He had not suffered on the cross yet when He said it. So what does it mean to take up your cross? The taking up our cross is the obedience to the gospel, His word, the commands of Jesus.

One more point to make here. In John 17:4,5, Jesus said  “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do5“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

So, this scripture and several others confirm to me, Jesus had finished the work at this point, overcoming the devil, dying to the flesh nature, and dying to the world. It was no longer Jesus that lived, but God living through Him. Now all he had to do was let the Father glorify Him on the Cross and finish His journey back into God, like He was before the world was. Glorification is the final step in the journey into God, the new creation.

“And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me39“He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. Matt 10:38,29

21“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death22“You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved. Matt 10:21

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it26“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul27“For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS. Matt 16:24-27

And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.35“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it36“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? 37“For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?38“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels (minister of fire to test us).” Mark 8:34

And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. 24“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it25“For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? 26“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels27“But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:23-27

And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain— for He says, “AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU.” Behold, now is “THE ACCEPTABLE TIME,” behold, now is “THE DAY OF SALVATION”— 2Cor 6:1,2

giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,4but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, 5in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger, 6in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love7in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left, 8by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true; 9as unknown yet well-known, as dying yet behold, we live; as punished yet not put to death, 10as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing all things. 2Cor 6:2-10

and the priest is to offer them up in smoke on the altar of burnt offering. 11‘But the hide of the bull and all its flesh with its head and its legs and its entrails and its refuse, 12that is, all the rest of the bull, he is to bring out to a clean place outside the camp where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood (the cross of Christ) with fire; where the ashes are poured out it shall be burned. Lev 4:10-12

For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp12Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. 13So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. Heb 13:11-13

“But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake13“It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony14“So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves15for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. 16“But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death17and you will be hated by all because of My name. 18“Yet not a hair of your head will perish. 19“By your endurance you will gain your lives. Luke 21:12-19

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death22“You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved. Matt 10:21

We Shall Be Changed And Made Alive (The First Resurrection, in us)

“Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. 26“For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; 27and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man28“Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment. Jn 5:25-29

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Pet 1:3,4

for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 1Pet 1:23

Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. 29If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him. 1Jn 2:28,29

Only One Commandment From God

We learn from the Spirit there is only one commandment God expects us to obey. And it was the commandment from the beginning. All the commandments are summed up in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Peace Offerings are a picture of love and shows a believer’s devotion to God by his service to a neighbor in need. The second commandment is the only true commandment. Loving your neighbor as yourself is…. Loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

“I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” Jn 12:50

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Gal 6:10

5To show partiality to the wicked is not good, Nor to thrust aside the righteous in judgment. Prov 18:5

Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. For this, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilment of the law. Rom 13:8-10

The “Will of God”

Two Creations, The True Creation Is

The New Creation Of God

To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: Rev 3:14

For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation16And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel (no longer Jacob, the deceiver) of God. GAL 6:15,16

For My people are foolish, They know Me not; They are stupid children And have no understanding. They are shrewd to do evil, But to do good they do not know.” I looked on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void; And to the heavens, and they had no light. Jer 4:22,23

You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground. Ps 104:30

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation16“He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Mark 16:15,16

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us (in us)19For the anxious longing of the creation (the called of God) waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons (manifesting the image) of God20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope21that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption (the old nature) into the freedom of the glory (His image) of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. Rom 8:18-23

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation (the new creation)16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him17He is before all things, and in Him (His gospel) all things hold together18He is also head of the body (those being created), the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead (transformed into eternal life), so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him20and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth (the earthy)or things in heaven (the heavenly).

21And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, 22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death (His death in you), in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach— 23if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation (through His vessels of mercy) under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister (ministry of reconciliation, a living sacrifice daily). Col 1:15-23

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; Heb 9:11

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming (in us)? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation. 2Peter 3:3,4

“But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE7FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, 8AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.9“What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate (cause the separation).” Mark 10:6

Sit At My Right Hand And Reign (through the gospel) Until All Enemies Are Under His Feet (us)

which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the fullness of Him (His likeness and His image) who fills all in all (in us). Eph 1:20-23

The “True Power” Of God, Revealed In Weakness

The power of God is found in the fellowship of His sufferings, the weakness. When we suffer for doing what is right, and patiently endure it, this finds favour with God. Through the suffering for doing what is right, we begin to rule and have dominion over our enemies, through the cross of Jesus Christ.

and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come22And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Eph 1:19

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony(witness) of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God (the worlds weakness, is the power of God. When we are weak, we are strong), who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 2Tim 1:8

Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power. 1Cor:6;14

Weakness, The Secret To Obtaining God’s Power

The secret to obtain God’s power, is meekness, humility, and contriteness, weakness to man, but precious in the sight of God. This is how His saints rule and reign in the heavenly realm. In the image of Christ, in His weakness, a thousand fall at our right hand and we put ten thousand to flight. We overcome all thing through Christ who strengthens us through His weakness, the power of God.

3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses5We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete. 2Cor 10:3-6

33who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, 34quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Heb 11;33,34

Awake From The Dust Of The Earth

“Many of those who sleep (fallen away) in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. 3“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars (the saints, holy ones) forever and ever. Dan 12:2,3

The Blessing And The Curse

Judging The Body Rightly

There are two distinct ways we judge in the church, the living body of Jesus Christ. Both are absolutely necessary, and ordained by God. Both types of judgment are, judge and you’ll be judged, as our Lord stated. Also, as the Lord stated, it is by your standard of measure it will be measured unto you. This is the fulfilment of the statement Jesus made, give and it will be given unto you.

Any judgment you receive, will not be God judging you, but will only be the true Law of God being administered, according to what you have given, you will receive. And the severity of the judgment will be according to your standard of measure. Remember, whatever you give, will come back pressed down, running over, poured into your lap.

Now the two types of judging in the body and both refer to the giver, and receiver:

First we’ll discuss unrighteous judgment, the judging of others that brings us punishment by the Law, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. If we do anything other than the Royal Law, we are judged as transgressors. This comes in different forms, including sickness and disease.

Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it. 12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor? James 4:11,12

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains8You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near9Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door. 10As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11We count those blessed who endured. James 5:7

Second we’ll discuss righteous judgment, judging the body rightly. This judgment is by loving a brother as ourselves. This is also called judgment. When we judge righteously, with the gospel, it covers their sin, and transforms us into His image and likeness, and the new birth continues down the narrow way to life.

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment. Jn 7:24

“He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. Jn 12:48

“Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, 31because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”

Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things3But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God4Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance5But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God6who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS7to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Rom 2:1-10

Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. Rom 14:4

But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. Rom 14:10

Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way. Rom 14:13

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life? 1Cor 6:2,3

For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly30For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. 1Cor 11:29,30

I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:2preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 2Tim 4:1,2

but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead6For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will of God. 1Pet 4:5,6

Cursed Is Everyone That Hangs On A Tree

“If a man has committed a sin worthy of death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day (for he who is hanged is accursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance. Deut 21:22,23

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”— Gal 3:13

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2Cor 5:21

For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM.”  Gal 3:10

For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh, 4who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, Rom 9:3,4

Choose—The Blessing or the Curse

“See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity16in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. 17“But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. 19“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,20by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, Deut 30:15-20

The Bread Of Life

The children of Israel were fed bread in the wilderness, God providing them bread out of heaven. This was a shadow of the Christ to come, the real bread out of heaven. Again, when Jesus walked the earth he gave them bread, showing them He could feed them bread out of heaven, a shadow of the true bread, standing in front of them. The scripture says, they ate of the bread and died. Again, looking at the true bread, most ate of the bread and died. Many today eat of the bread out of heaven and die, not eating of the true bread, His gospel, the eternal life. The true bread is His life, His flesh, His shed blood, His suffering, his walk, according to the will of the Father. If we eat this true bread, we live forever, and we have the Eternal Life, abiding in us.

Jn 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled27“Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”28Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” 29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him (the bread of life) whom He has sent.” 30So they said to Him, “What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform? 31“Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.’”32Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven (the manifested life)33“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” 34Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

35Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst36“But I said to you that you have seen Me (manifesting the eternal life), and yet do not believe. 37“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. 38“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39“This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. 40“For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day (when I come in the fullness in him).”

41Therefore the Jews were grumbling about Him, because He said, “I am the bread that came down out of heaven.” 42They were saying, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does He now say, ‘I have come down out of heaven’?” 43Jesus answered and said to them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. 44“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. 45“It is written in the prophets, ‘AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. 46“Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. 47“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life (manifesting in him)48I am the bread of life49“Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died50“This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die51“I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh (my crucified life).”

52Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” 53So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him (ascend into the heavenlies, in Christ) up on the last day (when He comes in the fullness in you)55“For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.56“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him57“As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me58“This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.”

60Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this said, “This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?” 61But Jesus, conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble62“What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before63“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life64“But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him. 65And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.” Jn 6:26-65

Yet He commanded the clouds above And opened the doors of heaven; 24He rained down manna upon them to eat And gave them food from heaven. 25Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance. Ps 78:23-25

The Children’s Bread

And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.”23But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.” 24But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed at once. Matt 15:22-28

Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. 33“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Jn 6:33

The Cause Of Sickness And Disease, and Healing

First, we must establish again, that all things in scripture must be revealed by the Spirt. We must have spiritual eyes to see them, otherwise they are sealed, and we become deluded and deceived by the natural.

When speaking about sickness and disease, we can only speak in generalities because we can’t use terms like always, all, none, and never. These are only wrangling over words and not profitable. Sickness isn’t always caused by the same action or origin, because it has many causes, according to the Spirit. For this discussion, we’ll use the word sickness, referring to both the words, sickness and disease. We are not saying; sickness and disease are exactly the same. That has not been revealed to us.

Saying that all sickness is the curse, may or may not be true. Saying all sickness is caused by sin, may or may not be true. Saying all sickness is caused by demons, may or may not be true. Saying all sickness is caused by our testing and trials, may or may not be true. Saying all sickness is caused by thorns in the flesh, may or may not be true. However, in many cases in scripture, all of the above causes are true.

According to the Spirit speaking in the Word of God:

  • Most sickness is the curse, according to scripture, but we certainly can’t prove all sickness is.
  • Most sickness is delivered by demons (messengers of Satan), according to scripture, but we certainly can’t prove all sickness is.
  • Most sickness is a result of sin, according to scripture, but we certainly can’t prove all sickness is. Any form of quarrelling, fighting, or anger, is enough to bring it on.
  • Often, sickness is a result of testing and trials of God’s people, but we certainly can’t prove all sickness is. When we fail these tests, sickness can move on our bodies.
  • Breaking the commandment, the Law of God, to love our neighbor, opens us up to sickness and disease.

To better understand sickness in the scripture, we must look at both Covenants, by the Spirit.

Sickness In The Old Covenant

And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer.” Ex 15:26

“The LORD will remove from you all sickness; and He will not put on you any of the harmful diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He will lay them on all who hate you. Deut 7:15

In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa became diseased in his feet. His disease was severe, yet even in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but the physicians.2Chron 16:12

So after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable sickness.19Now it came about in the course of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels came out because of his sickness and he died in great pain. 2Chron 21:18,19

Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; 3Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; 4Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Ps 103:1-4

Then they believed His words; They sang His praise. 13They quickly forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, 14But craved intensely in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert. 15So He gave them their request, But sent a wasting disease among them. Ps 106:12-15

“If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honored and awesome name, the LORD your God, 59then the LORD will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, even severe and lasting plagues, and miserable and chronic sicknesses. 60“He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid, and they will cling to you. 61“Also every sickness and every plague which, not written in the book of this law, the LORD will bring on you until you are destroyed. Deut 28:58-61

For thus says the LORD concerning the sons and daughters born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bear them, and their fathers who beget them in this land: 4They will die of deadly diseases, they will not be lamented or buried; they will be as dung on the surface of the ground and come to an end by sword and famine, and their carcasses will become food for the birds of the sky and for the beasts of the earth.” Jer 16:2-4

Therefore the Lord, the GOD of hosts, will send a wasting disease among his stout warriors; And under his glory a fire will be kindled like a burning flame. 17And the light of Israel will become a fire and his Holy One a flame, And it will burn and devour his thorns and his briars in a single day.

18And He will destroy the glory of his forest and of his fruitful garden, both soul and body, And it will be as when a sick man wastes away. 19And the rest of the trees of his forest will be so small in number That a child could write them down. Is 10:16-19

Sickness In The New Covenant, the “better” Covenant.

First, we must clearly state that both covenants promise us, that God will not put sickness and disease on his people, that obey his voice, his commandments.

Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. 24The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. Matt 4:23,24

When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever. 15He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him. 16When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.17This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: “HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.” Matt 8: 14-17

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Matt 9:35

Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Mat 10:1

While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them. 41Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ. Luke 4:40,41

who had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were being cured. 19And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all. Luke 6:18,19

At that very time He cured many people of diseases and afflictions and evil spirits; and He gave sight to many who were blind. 22And He answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM. Luke 7:21,22

And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. 2And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing. 6Departing, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. Luke 9:1,2,6

God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out. Acts 19:11,12

And it happened that the father of Publius was lying in bed afflicted with recurrent fever and dysentery; and Paul went in to see him and after he had prayed, he laid his hands on him and healed him. 9After this had happened, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases were coming to him and getting cured. Acts 28:8,9

  1. The Scripture clearly states that disobedience to God, may result in sickness. This is true in both Covenants, and we’ll see this clearly, by the Spirit, in each. It also states that the intended purpose of this type of sickness, is to bring repentance of the sin, and turn us back to God. The scripture then tells us we will be healed when the work is accomplished.
  2. The Scripture clearly states that God is the one that oftentimes sends, allows, ordains, or gives permission for our sickness.
  3. The Scripture clearly states that Satan, or messengers of Satan (demons), bring sickness to both the believer and unbeliever. Certainly, these may be for different reasons.
  4. The Scripture clearly states God sometimes lowers the hedge around a believer and allows sickness to come for a time.
  5. The Scripture clearly states a messenger of Satan (a demon) may come to humble us, to keep us from exalting ourselves, when God uses us for His purpose.
  6. The Scripture clearly states that God and Satan interact, and Satan asks permission to attack us. God lowers the hedge so he can.
  7. The Scripture clearly states Satan may demand permission from God or Christ, to sift us like wheat, bringing some type of trial into our lives.
  8. The Scripture clearly states that a curse does not come unless there is a cause.
  9. The Scripture clearly states that the discipline of the Lord, may come in the form of sickness.

Therefore the Lord, the GOD of hosts, will send a wasting disease among his stout warriors And under his glory a fire will be kindled like a burning flame.

Is 10:16-19

You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”

It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Heb 12:4-12

Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, So a curse without cause does not alight. Prov 26:2

And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” 16“And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?” Luke 13:10- 12,16

The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health. Ps 41:3

“For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong. Rev 18:8

‘I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first20‘But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols21‘I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality. 22‘Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds.23‘And I will kill her children with pestilence, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. Rev 22:19-23

Authority

“But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” 7And he got up and went home.8But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men. Matt 9:6-8

Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Mat 10:1

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20

And He summoned the twelve and began to send them out in pairs, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits; Mark 6:7

Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” 22But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? 23“Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins have been forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24“But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”—He said to the paralytic—“I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home.” Luke 5:21-24

And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. 2And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing. Luke 9:1,2

The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. 20“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” Luke 10:17-20

For even if I boast somewhat further about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for destroying you, 2Cor 10:8

For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present I need not use severity, in accordance with the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down. 2Cor 13:10

For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; Col 2:9,10

For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. 1Thes 4:2

These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you. Titul 2:15

Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties. Jude 1:8

‘He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the endTO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; 27AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father; Rev 12:26, 27

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. Rev 12:10,11

The Table Of The Lord

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 15I speak as to wise men; you judge what I say. 16Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? 17Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread.

18Look at the nation Israel; are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar? 19What do I mean then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. 21You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 22Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than He, are we? 1Cor 10:21,22

“But behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table. Luke 22:21

The Bread And The Cup

Although Jesus knew Judas was at the table with Him, and was going to betray Him, he made no attempt to stop him. This is subjecting Himself to another, becoming a living sacrifice, and offering a peace offering. He was entrusting Himself to the One that judges righteously, and the Will of God. He said, “do this” like I am, in remembrance of Me.

for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 18for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.” 19And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you (a thanksgiving peace offering); do this in remembrance of Me.” 20And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood21“But behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table22“For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined (the will of God); Luke 22:17-20

Eat Things Sacrificed To Idols

“Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. 21“For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

“For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:
29that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Acts 15:19-21 28,29

Now while they were passing through the cities, they were delivering the decrees which had been decided upon by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem, for them to observe. Acts 16:4

Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. 2If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know; 3but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.

4Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and that there is no God but one.5For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, 6yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

7However not all men have this knowledge; but some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. 8But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat. 9But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. 10For if someone sees you, who have knowledge, dining in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be strengthened to eat things sacrificed to idols? 11For through your knowledge he who is weak is ruined, the brother for whose sake Christ died. 12And so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. 13Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble. 1Cor 8:1-13

Committing Acts of Immorality, Adultery

What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 2You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God5Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”? 6But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” 7Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

11Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?

13Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 14Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” 16But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil17Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:1-17

‘But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. Rev 2:20
